For the weekly anthologies (Shounen Jump, Shounen Sunday) to work, black and white is required. The cheap price per magazine needs cheap paper and you can't print color on those paper. Compare their price (~¥300/$2) to single issue DC/Marvel comics (~$5). You get at least 10x the content for half the price.

>>286684608Really high effort colored art is great. Colored art trying to meet a strict deadline that already negatively impacts black and white manga is shit. Everything posted so far is somewhere between it would unironically look better if you made it grayscale, and acceptable but imagine if they just spent that time on drawing a more complex scene.
