>>286691728The main problem is that Isayama tried to make a genocide bad story while somehow concocting a setting that justified it completely with the entire world pretty much wanting nothing but the eradication of Paradis and it was all about wiping out or being wiped out. There was no other nuance to it yet he went for a generic message with Marvel tier delivery that was dissonant with the story presented. You can pull off "break the cycle of violence" stories with good execution here the story did nothing but provide reasons for why it was them or the world.
