From what I see so far it seems like when it comes to making shit with the Datenseki there are two big choke points. The first is actually getting the Datenseki to a malleable point without it blowing you up, which Kunishige believes can be fixed by increasing the heat to a specific temperature slowly over time.As for the second, which I don't think anyone's gotten to yet, maybe if the veins of the metal aren't facing outward like Urita said the magnified spirit energy won't escape the right way. Instead of just being weaker though it explodesI don't know how making sharp metal objects works at all but from 5 minutes of googling I got that cooling and heating is a necessary part of a cycle for folding metal and making strong swords. Urita can do this for regular metal spectacularly but I imagine micromanaging both the heat and the pathways over and over would be nigh-impossible to just feel out, so the Rokuhira eyes are vital
