>>286702897wow man thats so novelI read the female titan and royal governmet arcs too you know. yes, there were times when things went wrong after he relied on others. there were times when he finally wanted to be the one doing it himself, saving the day, not being a burden to anyone.these aspects coexisting is what made eren such a great character. and eren keeping his trust in people, keeping his open-mindedness even after things went wrong, even after he despairs in that cave, that's what made him such an endearing character. a character you want to root for. a quality your shonen lead should probably have.all these qualities are gone after the timeskip. for the longest time we get no explanation as to why this change happened. and when we eventually do get one, the magic future vision mindbreak mumbo jumbo, it's fucking shit that, at BEST, replaces Eren, your main character, with a completely new guy wearing Eren's body like a skinsuit.

Eren's "open mindedness" changed because he was forced to make a timely decision to protect the lives of the people he cared about and realized inaction is ethically worse than taking action. This is a consistent theme with his character: being pushed into a corner to make decisions to protect everyone, and then usually being scolded/punished/called suicidal or stupid or psychopathic for it.

NGL, I always found it kind of funny how on one arc Eren would get punished for trying to do things on his own and rebelling against his superior's orders, only for the next one to punish him even harder for following orders and trusting in others.
