Shinji Ikari is the most hated protagonist (by ignorant people). Generally, people immersed in modern ideology fail to see a boy who witnessed his own mother's death in front of him when he was only 4 years old (and it's so intense that he claims not to remember, suggesting a trauma too heavy to bear). He spent his childhood cold and distant from those around him, except for his father, who never showed anything for him (and only saw him as a useful object). People blame him for the hospital scene, but let's look at the facts. He felt guilty right after it ended. He's also just a 14-year-old child who liked Asuka, and people can't see any parallel between that and Asuka fighting alone? Yes, it's a parallel! And another thing! Can we really blame him? He was desperate right after killing Kaworu... Another point is that he doesn't hate Asuka, nor does she hate him (this is a copy). As soon as she wakes up, the first person she thinks of (besides her mother) is Shinji! Shinji freaks out when he sees her dead.I don't know, man, stop hating on Shinji, your misandry is obvious! (And as a bonus: Asushin is canon)
I didn't hate him before, but now I do.

>>286701861Asuka Shinji is clearly canon (even in the original series, this is obvious) and Evangelion didn't need anything past EoE
