Started watching the mini-series yesterday.I can already tell just by seeing the first two episodes why it's considered one of the best animes of all time, as well as one of the most influential.
Even after three and a half decades it still looks gorgeous, and the animation is great.
Btw, I wonder.Was this anime the first one to popularise this sort of fantasy artstyle which we see in the 90's?

>>286707800Lodoss ova is basically two different shows. I'm pretty dismissive of people who have any issues with the shape of the ova in its first arc. It's not badly animated. For the designs it's heavily animated. And the pace is almost perfect where it can be longer than a movie but not stretched out to 12 episodes. Everything said about the ova relating to stuff beyond the first arc's conclusion is true though. There should be more anime characters that use their cloaks for things like magic or flying. Deed was one of the very few cases, and she was downright magnificent doing it in the OVAs.
