90s girls did it betteralso when the fuck are we getting Retro Anime - /ra/
I like the Gunsmith Cats Kickstart My Heart AMV
>>286708157thank you for sharing, anon
>>286708121yes please give oldgoodnewbadfags their own containment board so they can circlejerk the only 10 old anime they watch
>>286708243That's okay
>>286708405It's not about that, it's just hard to keep a thread going for an older show that isn't uber-famous because there aren't enough bumps compared to the newer stuff. The same thing happened for the various /v/ derivatives that were made./vg/, /vp/, and to an extent, /vmg/ were all made to declutter /v/, while /vm/ and /vr/ were made for threads that couldn't keep up with the bump speed of /v/. It's not about shaming for preferences, we all love anime here anon. Just makes it easier for actual discussion to flourish instead of the only threads making it being rage threads and EVA threads. Also it should be called /ar/ if we're keeping board naming conventions.
To the anon yesterday who opined that he wished girls still dressed like pic related: I am with you, bro.
would you this highschooler if it meant her yakuza dad would beat the shit out of you after?
>>286708121>>286708557they didn't make one when the board was booming few years ago, what makes you think they would split the board post-hack when the activity throughout the site has reduced.
>>286709026/a/ is one of the few boards that's not totally bled out over the last 5 years like the rest of 4chan, so I can imagine there's probably some hesitation with what you're talking about. I also think it's a board culture decision, even if shit like /m/ already exists. With /v/ something had to be done because the board was just completely unusable. My opinion is that it wouldn't split the board, because the number of users that would permanently switch to /ar/ would be pretty low, and at most we'd "lose" 1 or 2 threads a day max from /a/. I think if anything, it would be a healthy decision that could help revitalize the anime side of 4chan. I mean, /vr/ and /vm/ were relatively successful in doing just that.
>>286708121>when the fuck are we getting Retro Anime - /ra/the few retro threads we get on /a/ are pretty consistent but usually die out due to lack of activityand you want a whole board?
>>286710022I mean, isn't that the exact use case? A slow board would help tremendously with getting threads moving. The reason they die out is because someone willing to have a conversation might not see the thread in the 6 hours it gets to live. Take /m/ or even /cgl/ as an example. Slow boards are great for more niche interests.
I miss ADV
>>286708557>It's not about that, it's just hard to keep a thread going for an older show that isn't uber-famous because there aren't enough bumps compared to the newer stuff. It's almost like it's not that popular.
>>286710507Relative to current trending anime and the super famous ones, yea. Doesn't really mean anything. If 4chan only catered to what was popular, /a/ would have never been made.
Boards are created when something is likely to generate enough traffic to make money or when something needs to be contained, and retro anime is neither.
>>286710550That's...not really true. 4chan can barely find advertisers as is, and this site can be considered a passion project at this point. Japmoot isn't in this for the money, or if he is, he's terrible at it. Boards are stood up when there's a general community desire for one that persists for a long time, or as was the case for /v/, when it's necessary for usability. It costs almost nothing anyways. It's another /folder on a drive somewhere with some free jannies and maybe one of the less tasked mods adding it to their perview.
>>286708900I dont have any screens or pics of girls like that on me that match but i agree, its cute and reads as hobbyist to me, whatever shes into is something shes interested in and passionate about>>286709262i agree>>286710022maybe im naive but i feel like if there was a board for it then there would natrually spawn new and different threads to populate it with more varied types of retro threads and dicussion, i feel like having a board for it would incentivize it
>>286710549>If 4chan only catered to what was popular, /a/ would have never been made. What I meant was do you really think /ra/ would be popular enough to actually have any movement, or would it be 100 generals that are just up all the time?
>>286710643Oh I see, well in that case it's a good question. That's probably the biggest risk, but also, some of that can maybe be mitigated by anons setting a standard and making actually interesting threads. I think /m/ is a really good template for this where they have some generals like the Muv Luv threads, but there's plenty of random ass threads that don't fit into any one show category. It's a valid concern.
>>286710643It would be faster than /gd/
>>286710635I was speaking generally, but it's unlikely a new board will be created in the first place. How many new boards were created since Hiro took charge eleven years ago? Five, right?
>>286711034Anon there's been like 12 new boards since 2015. Granted we haven't had one for like 5 years now or whatever. I agree that it's probably not happening. A man can wish :/
How about a containment board for dbspics instead?
>>286711191There are still DB fans? I hardly see them anymore
>>286711189My bad, but seriously who the fuck even visits boards like /aco/, /his/, /xs/, and /vip/?
>>286711390/his/ is decently busy
>>286711191All shonen generals need to be contained to /reddit2.0/ then maybe this board can regain some semblance of normalcy.
Generals and phoneposting killed board culture.
This is a 90's girls thread, wheres all the 90's girls
We do it's called /m/
>>286710022/vr/ was the same, and so was /m/. The splits bring more discussion, not the same amount.
>>286711390/aco/ has a lot of traffic
>>286710550and that's why we have an entire origami board?
I realized the other day that characters like madam president were probably based on american actresses like kelly mcgillis and pamela anderson and the reason we don't have characters like them today is because american media became brown and gay
>>286717172You mean big titted blondes or is there other chararacteristics youre referring to?
>>286708121>also when the fuck are we getting Retro Anime - /ra/does 2000's count as retro now? thats all im really interested in except maybe some 90s stuff
>>286710550>make money
>>286708900WHO
Post cool old stuff!
>>286708900She looks fat but the kind of fat I would have sex with
>>286710643/a/ Is already a bunch of general for the terminally online schizos that haunt them. But since you like those or are one of the terminally online schizos themselves you don't mind.
>>286718722This is a good question. It would be cool if at least everything below the bar of 2009 was considered retro enough to be on /ar/. There are plenty of shows made on the 2000s that can't survive the fast paced and seasonal flood of stuff /a/ constantly suffers.
bump
in my opinion there should be a board for /sa/ - seasonal anime
>>286708121I could never find her hot because she looks exactly like my mom before she got fat.
The style of Ranma's original anime /Orange road anime was my favorite, really wish every anime was like this.
i just really like the colors of that era. i wonder they haven't replicated it yet
>>286714127
>>286719516This is kind of cool but truthfully I don't know what it's from, I thought it was Sailor Moon at first but I'm not sure
I like pauldrons
>>286718722I think if it's digital it probably shouldn't count as retro at this point. There's some stuff in the early 2000s that meets this requirement, but I think the 90s should really be the cuttoff.
>>286721496Research indicates that this is Shinozaki Ai from Jigoku Sensei Nube.
>>286719516Girl on the left looks like if Haruka (Sailor Moon) was in Yu Yu Hakusho.
>>286708121What's consider retro is anime from 2010 and before now.
