I'm not even talking about Naruto forgetting her confession, the event itself has literally zero impact on Hinata. She doesn't rethink her obsession or pursue Naruto further, she's just glad he's alive and that's it. Nearly dying doesn't shake her up, doesn't prompt her to train harder or adopt new strategies, she never gets to explain herself or justify her actions. Everyone just takes it as granted, "oh that Hinata, of course she'd try something like that. Shame we weren't around to tard wrangle her."
