It's actually kind of shocking how bad Stone Ocean is. Complete lack of fun, and the JoBros are terrible. And don't get me started on the static "animation".
>>286735329>Complete lack of fun, and the JoBros are terribleoh boy, wait until you get to SBR
>>286735346I'm struggling to finish the last few episodes in preparation for SBR. Everyone keeps telling me it's amazing. Is it that bad? I miss Parts 1-4 JoJos that was cool and actually fun to watch.
>>286735329hard to believe this was written after golden wind
>>286735329Try reading the manga, the anime is pretty much half baked (even the blu-rays don't fix the worst issues) since DP rushed this part out the door for the Netflix bucks.
>>286735380the manga is great even if some characters are kind of plain. the animation doesnt looks promising and there is a lots of horses (cgi danger), so it seems it will be a poor adaptation
>>286739476>>286738262I was always under the assumption that the anime was really accurate to the manga. Maybe SBR will be the one that I actually read the manga along with it. There were definitely a ton of moments in Stone Ocean where I was watching the fights going on and thinking to myself "This probably is shown a lot better in a manga".
>>286735329yes it's a shit arc. Awful villain, awful cast, awful fights.Part 5 is shitty too but at least we have Mista, Narancia and cool fights. Part 3 is where the show peaks. It aint perfect but it has all the right ingredients. Part 1 + 2 being close seconds. Other parts have huge issues.>>286739612At least the animation carries you through the slop. Reading part 6 was extremely tiresome. I genuinely disliked the experience. Part 5 as a manga was also terrible and I think the anime did a decent job to better it.
>>286739813See my favorite is Part 4. I just think it balances its stakes and its fun pretty well. Also I tend to hear one of the complaints surrounding Part 4 is that the villain doesn't show up until halfway through, but after seeing Part 6 with its terrible pacing, I think that worked as a benefit. Although Part 3 has the most standout episodes that I like to go back and rewatch.I do not think that the animation carries any of it at all. It's unfortunate to watch other popular anime like Jujutsu Kaisen, which as a story I'm not a big fan of since it's all over the place, but the action is very fun and exciting to watch. And then going over and watching an episode of Stone Ocean feels like I'm looking at a PowerPoint slideshow.
>>286739813>Part 3 is where the show peaks.lol
>>286735329>>286735380>animation>episodesYou fucked up.
>>286739915Even with poor animation you still have the music and the VA. There's something to enjoy there. Reading through the sludge that is part 6 is a pain in the ass from beginning til the end.For some reason Araki started losing his ability to write likeable character in part 5. The fights are like a contest to come up with the most wacky stand ideas imaginable, and the fights themselves rarely deliver.>>286740039I mean yeah everyone has his little opinion about what they consider to be the best Jojo part, but imo it cannot be denied that it belongs to the greats. It rocks the fundamentals in a way that I feel like no other part does.
>>286735329Part 7 will save Jojo
>>286740895>music and the VAThat's true. It really is a shame about the characters, because not only are they not very likable, most of the time everyone is separated from each other due to the nature of the setting, a prison. And I don't think he writes around those limitations very well.
>>286739915I definitely respect part 4, I just felt it missed the mark on some key aspect. I've thought about it and honestly I just think it needed more episodes. It introduces so many characters but most of them do not get their moment to shineI also get the feeling that Araki remained unsure about where to go with the story right until the climax. The highlights of the part would be Koichi and Kira. These 2 definitely made the part for me. Josuke was my disappointment though. His introduction was great and he has cool moments but towards the end it feels like he loses that aura of nutjob he had in the beginning and starts to lean more into that generic good guy archetype. But yeah it would be unfair to exclude it from Jojo's peak, I definitely think it belongs to it.
>>286735329>Complete lack of fun, and the JoBros are terrible. And don't get me started on the static "animation".Wait till you watch Static Ball Run, kek.
>>286740965> powerpoint panning shots galore and CGI horses everywhere will save jojoyeah ok sure
>>286735380The manga has its moments, but feels kind of plain for most of the time. Good and colorful art may not be enough to carry a plot like that. Most of people who glaze it are American fans hyped about the Wild West setting, or normies following their "elite taste" idols.
>>286740965Holy mother of cope. xD I can't say whether you're trolling or not.
>>286735346SBR has more fun in a single arc, than Shit Ocean does in its entirety
