Anyone here going to this? It's playing in my metropolitan economic zone tonight and I haven't seen it.
no
Sweet, it's playing in my city for the next three days. I missed Totoro and Mononoke last year, so I'll try to catch it this time.
>>286736394>metropolitan economic zoneIs this just a fancy phrasing for a city?
It's a good film but I don't see much value personally in taking even the best 35mm anime scan and blowing it up for imax sized screens.
>>286738192It's a good excuse to rerun classic anime in theaters, including in countries they never screened in before.
It depicts a society so high trust that a 14 year old girl can go to the big city to make a living and do so unharmed.
Sounds neat but I already have the blu ray at homeI dont have time or some extra money for theater stuff
Pro tip to anyone going: try to sit closer to the screen than you otherwise would. Assuming you have been slacking on your nip lessons, trying to read subs on a massive fuck off screen can give you eye strain. You want to try and sit under the subs so you can get the whole image in your periphery by just looking up. Go for the 3rd or 4th row and try and sit as close to the center as possible.
>>286736394I didn't feel like going all the way downtown to see it. It'll probably be back if they do another Ghiblifest this year so I'll see it then at a closer theater.
