At what point are you considered an anime fan? Because you watched Digimon/Pokemon/Sailor Moon/DBZ/Gundam Wing/Big O on Toonami in the early 2000s? Or did you have to get into subs? Or was it continuously watching anime or looking for it(even if you failed to find it)? For instance, you only discovered subbed anime in 2010, but you watched a ton of dubbed stuff even when toonami died. And watched dubbed stuff on say, IFC like Gunslinger girl and samurai 7
You need to watch 1000 anime.
>>286746113I simply like anime. I don't seek validation from the likes of you desu.
I watch all the old big shonen on repeat
>>286746113If you need to ask then you're not.
Personally, it is when you acknowledge a trait you consider unique to anime that you personally enjoy and seek out.Socially? It is when you can talk to strangers about anime beyond one recent show.
>>286746307This. We can legislate about "poser otaku" all day but in the end you've got to be honest with yourself and other honest people will see that.Do you like anime? Then watch it and talk about it. That's all there is.>>286746267What's your favorite anon? Which one have you seen the most times?
>>286746113When you start enjoying cute girls doing cute things.

Real anime fan>Thinks about animeRetarded normalfag>When am I considered an anime fan?
Its Haruhi. If you watched Haruhi you are an animu fan. If not, you are a normie. Somehow this has remained constant throughout the past two decades.
>>286746524We can only hope that such days will come again.
>>286746113You can only be a fan of anime if you are Japanese.
>>286746113>At what point are you considered an anime fan?If you go out of your way to watch and discuss anything that wasn't shown to mainstream audiences.
>>286747204So even the Korean dubs I watched of might gaine and da garn in the 90s? LOL
>>286746218kek came to post thishowever you can consider yourself a junior cadet after you've watched all of /a/core
>>286747363I have never once seen a Kaleido Star thread on /a/
>>286747363Nice to see Vandread in there! >>286746549dropped haruhi, guess i'm a normie now
>>286747313Yeah, why wouldn't they count? Also you are literally on an anime board discussing them.
>>286747462dubbed?
>>286747471Yes doesn't matter if it's in Japanese, Spanish, Korean, Russian, Chinese, or English. It's was also the 90s, that makes it even more valid, anime and manga was very difficult to come by in that decade.
>>286746113I endured shaming for liking SCC in middle school.I still remenber when I met one of my dearest friends he was a friend of a friend and I was wearing a shirt with pic related on it. he said rei and smiled, that was like 18 years ago

>>286746113i dont think its possible to turn yourself into an anime fan, it sounds like something impossible
>>286747363>busou renkinahahahahafuck off
>>286747970I want to be Konata's fan
>>286746113>At what point are you considered an anime fanit's pretty simple. If you're just watching shit because it's on TV and you like it, you're not really a fan, you're just someone who likes anime. Once you go out of your way to find stuff that is not directly infront of you, then you can call yourself a fan.
