As someone who's been reading for years I am seriously dissapointed. It's been some time now since part 2 truly hooked me but I kept on reading because I enjoyed everything that came before and was hoping for a proper outcome. Part 2 started so strong and it got to the point where I was enjoying Asa even more than I ever did Denji so to get to the conclusion and discover that both of the protagonists just got no real ending to their character development is such a let down. I think a lot of us were being burnt out by the Denji regression cycle but we kept reading because there was that hope of him learning how to cope and live with his trauma in a healthier way but instead fujimoto just cut out any real development and chose to "erase" the trauma instead of having both Asa and Denji confront them. Worst part is that their trauma isn't actually reverted either because Denji still had to sell body parts, live without a mother and kill his dad while Asa had to deal with an abusive father,let him die and loss her mom. Was really looking forward to seeing them find a way to cope together. Adding in power and nayuta felt like a cheap way to win over some goodwill with fans and even though I like them this doesn't move me whatsoever. Loved part 1, loved the start of part 2, loved the one shots but this is absolutely a spit in the face

You could have legitimately dropped the last two chapters anywhere into the last few months worth of narrative and nothing would have changed, the ending essentially ignores everything about Asa/Yoru/Death/Nostradomus Prophecy in order to get back to a resolution to Denji's story that, in practical terms, is pretty unearned. It would make sense if the story was about Denji getting himself into deeper and deeper shit because he was chasing the dragon of his own happiness straight into hell, but he was barely an actor in his own story and then it stopped abruptly as soon as the scale of the consequences of his actions became apparent
