All good things have to come to an end. But it was a great time, taking this journey with everyone. I'd had a bad experience with a bunch of Symphogear fans, and almost lost my love for the series, but Princession reminded me why I love both. I owe a debt of gratitude to Princession and everyone who's been a part of this year long journey. The theorycrafting, the Nagaseposting, angry precurefags shitting on Princession. There's been some great moments, and it was all worth it.I do wish we'd gotten Princess Nacchi in the end. Well that was a very great ending. Not sure what to rate it overall, it certainly had some meh episodes with too much talking while sitting around a table, and in general could've used more scenes and episodes with the main characters just going and doing their own things instead. You could tell they were not very familiar with how to actually make a year-long children's cartoon show. Regardless, it was very enjoyable and I will miss it, and a great final arc and ending at least doesn't leave one unsatisfied and somewhat disappointed with the whole show.

I would not have started to lurk buyfag and ended up a regular on two threads on different boards without Princession. There's probably a lot more stuff about my life that would be different without the show, likely including just how much I've been around /a/ by having an excuse to keep an eye on it. I doubt I'd have started to be around r/a/dio or yearly rewatches otherwise. It's been a long year, and honestly the show helped me through some stuff, as silly and sappy as it is to say that. Some songs have become a staple in my listening, and I'll come back to them. And I'll remember all the schizoposting and theorising and memes and horny and all the good times we had. Yeah I'm being cringe. Fuck you. It's late and I'm allowed to. You just watched a show for little girls, you're in no position to talk. I got a little teary eyed at the climax. I wouldn't mind if we did throw together a rewatch. I'll have to try olive oil on ice-cream sometime. I'll make something for the show sooner or later, beyond shilling it to people, be it fanfic (maybe a crossover given where I post) or music if I get into that properly. It deserves it.And lastly, I would like you all to know I was behind about 90% of the Nagasex posts.
From the start, the first episodes that hooked me in were 4 and 5, the Nagase/Meteor introduction arc. I love Nagase, she's been my favorite Princess through the show. I love the energetic dorky energy she bought to the table and the references she'd throw about being way beyond her years was hilarious. The fight with Drun and how she struggled with the two sides she had was great. After that I was sold on Princession. For the first cour, it was that and the first trio finisher episode. Triad Force is a fantastic song, even now. The episode that capped it all off with Calist coming in and overwhelming the girls and singing was really unexpected but I loved it, I loved his song. I think I listened to it the most in the weeks where we didn't have an episode because of the recap. The second cour started incredibly strong with an episode I'd say was perhaps one of my favorite, if not my favorite from the entire run. Band Snatch taking over, even taking over the social media was super good. That they spent the entire episode without showing the protagonists even once and the antagonists got their time to show a side of themselves that portrayed them softer and more relatable was really neat and it was a crossdressing episode too. From the second group of focus episodes, I was surprised that Nagase got to go first, her turning super saiyan and her song for Tanaka Mai was incredible, but I'd have to say if I was to choose then the song that resonated with me the most during this time was definitely 'Only Yours'. Kagari's strong feelings to cheer on Hasegawa Hayate was just perfect and that's what leads me to Ripple. Up until then I hadn't really seen Minamo or Ripple as the main character, she was the lead but didn't feel like the lead. I liked the jobbing jokes. However, Fight Might Me and episode 18 changed that. I saw her as more of a leader from then on. It really changed my perspective of her.
>>287082203Capping off another great cour were the Band Snatch fights, Perfect Showdown is another of my favorite songs from the show where the Princesses lost and eventually regrouped. Nacchi earned a lot of points here. The way she knew and cheered Minamo on, the songs she sang to give them their Take Me Higher finisher, the relationship she formed with Mirai at the time, with All of it, of it was amazing from her. Red Queen coming in hot and Nana-sama singing the ED was amazing and I was shocked at how fast the girls took care of her, I'm still not sure to this day whether I liked that entirely? But I do think it worked given how things went from there. The third cour started with a really cute episode. Love me song Pink, love me Cyan. The side characters of Princession were really good. Though around this time I'd say the tempo and focus definitely felt like it fell into the normal year long lull where shows will lose their way a bit after midseason, I do still appreciate the way that the Flower Knights were portrayed. The episode where Riri revealed herself, where Sumire unveiled herself, where the truth with Toma was revealed. All of those incredible episodes. The first transformation for Neige and Viola were really cool and although it may have taken them a little longer to join than I would have liked, I still think that it was preferable over having them join immediately. I also like how Nacchi worked to bringing Riri around during this time and the whole aquarium outing.

The group songs are strong, the fight with White Queen was really cool and Circle of Life forms made the girls seem threatening in a way and then it kept getting better and better with how Band Snatch was back, Nabiyu was the King, all with incredible songs being introduced almost every week. It's breathtaking. I didn't expect the Flower Knights to come back for the rushing on the tower. That episode they fought Band Snatch was downright beautiful and the finale felt like it came together naturally and fit well. The voice actor for Calist did such a good job with this group of episodes, it can't be said enough how much his charismatic but over the top acting did wonders for presenting them.Then the fight with Nabiyu, Minamo punching him and saying they just wanted to talk, I'm glad that even if they had to hash it out that he was still roughed up a little for trying to shoulder everything himself. Though that's what I liked too, I've said it before, but there's not a single character in the show I don't like and that came together well when showing them off for the finale. Giving payoff to the Saki saxophone girl stuff, incredible, the princesses joining and getting remixed songs. I even felt something in my heart when the Jamasnark showed up and was fading away after fighting off the Jamawocks. I don't think there's many works that can boast that even a monster of the week got a little emotion out of me. And of course the finale with Nacchi singing, Nacchi's been the MVP, even if she was relegated to the background and wasn't a princess which I would have liked her to have been, she was marvelous. I'm happy that the queens came back, I'm happy that Ripple got her little moment to shine, good end.There's much more I could say, I've already said a lot.I've enjoyed this show, the music, this year so very much, thanks for watching with me.

Besides the usual dunking on WT when they're doing incompetent stuffs (in which I'm guilty of that as well), this thread is extremely comfortable, and really elevate the watching experience of what otherwise a Nitiasa show that I could be dropping early on. I really love the ending. It's really hard to pull off an "everyone is contributing" ending right and making the incarnation of everyone's combined musessence be the one who closes things out is a great way to do that, and also allows for a cool single character scene and heroic sacrifice. Everyone's little moment in the montage was great too, as was Minamo's final daijoubujobu during the climax. And I really like redeeming the Queens like that and letting the two of them be together after everything they've been through; the show was their story almost as much as the protagonists'. And I like that neither of them was fully right in the end.
