The PV seems to be for episode 0, good choice to not spoil things any further. I'm guessing it will be consistently better than S2, with hopefully peaks comparable to S1 peaks. S1C1 quality imo is hard to achieve without the extended pre-production, even with more animators. It's things like enviroment designs, paintings, small props, etc, they just had a lot more time to cook. Overall hopeful.

I've been reading Orc Eroica. Poor Bash does everything he can but the premise of the story won't let him score. He even had a chance with dwarf girl. It's a fun, relatively light hearted series once you get used to the misunderstandings. The way Bash is treated reminds me of how Rudeus' actions are always misunderstood through gossip but twice as dramatic.

Ars being like 17, 18 or a 19 years old there would make far more sense since the story treats Ars as if he is essentially adult-aged and enough of a "big boy" that he can make his own decisions, and older Ars treats his old self the same, as if he was just a dumb youngling, but to me it doesn't work when he is 11 years old. I guess the way to reconcile this is the fact that everyone in Rudeus' family had to grow up into being an adult at that age. Sylphie, Rudeus and Eris all had to become independent and fend for themselves at 10-12 years old once the mana calamity hit. Roxy left her home at 10 years old too irrc. Same with Paul and I think Zenith too.

>>287072917I disagree. Having the characters interact in another setting and getting Rudeus to actually socialize continuously with a community. Lots of foreshadowing, setup and questions raised for future volumes alongside the raising of stakes for the long run. The subsequent action and adventure would feel hollow to me without properly fleshing out the characters, this is where Rudeus finally starts feeling like part of the world at large as many of the people who he met through his travels start to converge in a single point and where he creates the foundation that will lead him to fight Orsted and later work with him for what he needs to protect. I enjoy both the adventure and the tension of the other arcs but this arc honestly helps elevating those feelings.
