I think the only criticisms I could give is that the novels have very little interactions between them that don't involved talking about Rudeus. Would be cool if Eris got Sylphie interested in swordsmanship, or Eris and Roxy interacted more, something like that. The Rudy wank gets too much later on.

I've just recently started watching this show, I have 7 episodes remaining of S2, right before Turning Point 3.This show has really good concept and many cool plot elements, but the moment-to-moment writing kind of sucks and would have greatly benefited by having a woman cowriter and a little slower pacing to flesh out the character dynamics. It feels like patchwork the author's favourite elements cobbled together. But I guess they did a fairly effective job at making a vibrant world at the lowest possible runtime. The Sylphiette marriage arc is the worst so far, it basically just checks some boxes while providing zero emotional insight or intrigue beyond my poor imagination that I know should be there.The journey with Eris and Ruijerd was great, especially due to Eris' contradictory nature which made the relationship dynamic interesting. I felt things weren't going the right way and I could sort of feel the end in S1 coming. Roxy and her hometown episode in s1 was great, her thankless attitude towards her home reminded me of western wokies. Interesting character, and cute. I'm assuming she will end up submitting into Rudeus' harem and into her female nature, this story is male fantasy after all.Rudeus honestly could have been a bit better person to deserve of the (assumed) harem. But I guess the girls just can't ignore the sheer power of his mana and famed silent casting. Ruijerd is much more of a man, though apparently retired from male pursuits into a sage role.
