A proper ending for Railgun would be one that ends after a big payoff that is built up over several arcs. Perhaps one that builds off whatever happened to Uiharu in Jailbreaker. So I think people expected one or two arcs minimum after Past-namak to wrap up because there is no way they'd end on a flashback. They'd end with the Railcrew beating some form of big bad that threatens Academy City as a whole.

Daihaseisai would have been a better ending point structurally, but they seem to have decided to go for the end at the beginning cyclical kind of thing. They could easily have Kamachi pump out more content, but there is a grain of truth in saying that NT is limiting for Mikoto. Anything after NT13 is kind of a cut off for a longer story for any recurring character in AC.

Just watched the concert. Index's and Mikoto's seiyuu storing an acrylic of Kamijou in their chests was funny. Mugino's VA was cute. The Railgun part had a surpring amount of Kamikoto teasing by the cast but the onee-sama challenge was definitely the highlight.

It's a whole theme that was revisited during GT4 in his conversation with Othinus, where she brought up him and Misaki due to her powers should be aware of why everyone being forced to get along is dangerous.

He didn't like Alice's adventure because it puppets everyone and blocks off other possibilities, and the uncertainty was more fun. At his core, if you peel everything else away, I legitimately think his biggest problem with it is that it would be boring.
