This is one of the problems I have with Part 1. If, during those seven years, Dio had at least considered abandoning his plan, Jonathan's death wouldn't seem so pathetic, he died embracing his brother-turned-villain... but Dio was never his brother. I don't see this as a case of "Christian love", Jonathan is clearly invoking the seven years to die in peace.Part 1 has so much wasted potential.
