Why don't anime fans praise the anime that are based on video games? In terms of early 2000s anime, I've seen more praise for stuff like Chobits, Fullmetal Alchemist, Comic Party, Fruits Basket, and Azumanga Daioh than I have Kirby and Sonic X, both of which tend to get ignored by hardcore anime fans, even though Sonic X was a very popular anime.

The Kirby anime is just a bit lame to me, from the decision to make Kirby an actual baby to it being structured like a sitcom with zero adventuring. I like the F-Zero anime though, someone on youtube made a good-looking HD upscale a while ago.

I remember kirby airing on some paid channel so no one got to watch it until they did the whole nintendo anime channel thing years later. Kirby Right Back At Ya was pretty kino, but I haven't rewatched it as an adult and never saw the jap dubI will never forgive them for Sonix X. I liked the Legend of Mana anime but it had some issues. I was just amazed they made a legend of mana anime in modern day. I fucking love Dragon Quest Dai no Daibouken a lot though. If that counts. I'm watching the old Abel one right now too. DQ really makes good format for anime because they dont have to follow the games but it still feels like the games.
The Sonic Adventure 1 arc in Sonic X sucks. It's so poorly paced. The Egg Viper and Perfect Chaos get defeated in like less than 15 seconds.
