When I read a story with awful writing, I can just easily drop it and not think about it. When a story makes me like a character and then kills them off, I'm upset for years. It's been over a decade since I saw katanagatari and I'm still mad, and feeling like I want to smash the writers' heads in for that long can't be healthy.

But if Miura had done something to Schierke I would have personally booked a flight to Japan to do what needed to be done. Glad fate got to him before he did something irredeemable. And Katanagatari's action is nowhere as near as good as Berserk's, and I cared far less about Caska or the other mercs than I did Togame.I just don't get why authors decide to ruin their stories by killing off good characters. Bet you anything that most people even in this thread would appreciate Katanagatari more if Togame hadn't died.
