>>287182655Hey, german voiceactor here. A friend of mine actually did the directing for the german dub of Onimai. The german market IS massive. Since Austria and Switzerland are also german speaking we have a big demand for dubbing. There are roughly 2000 voiceactors and 2 big citys where all the studios are. 20% gets dubbed in Munich, about 75% in Berlin andd the rest is done in smaller studios, scattered through Germany. Smaller animes like "onimai" can get dubbed relatively cheap in smaller studios. "onimai" got done in "Tonwerk" in Munich. The Cut and the Soundguy get paid next to nothing, they also do the backround voices, so you don't have to pay actual voiceactors. The actual roles get paid 53€ for showing up, and then 3,50€ per take. The mainroles with the bigger voiceactors get paid a bit more. "Tonwerk" actually shut down a few months ago, because they couldn't pay their voiceactors anymore. In the last 10 years or so, most smaller studios either shut down, or got swallowed up by the FFS. Some really dark times ahead...
