>Make the most dangerous soldier>Hes TOO dangerous Why are old OVAs like this?
If many old OVAs were like this the medium wouldn't be complete dogshit only praised by super casual anime fans
>>287188134M.D. Geist has this weird trend in that combined with endless shilling and not being a major thing in Japanthe early 90s and 2000s anime western community deemed it the worst anime ever made but around 2010 the manime trend was starting to rise combined with I believe some channels actually reairing Geist too
>>287187618He can't stop, he's just a soldier.
>>287188182I think Geist is more interesting than other OVAs it just didn’t have the animation to back it up. The directors cut had fixed these issues and now most people look at Geist better.
It was Japan's attempt at Warhammer 40k.It was alright for what it was.
>>287187618>follow the system and get granted power>once you have power turn on the system because you only obeyed to get the powerThat's been every man's fantasy at least once in his life.
>>287188364Actually Warhammer tard check this out >The original title of M.D. Geists translation was Thunder Warrior >Rogue Trader was 1987>The concept of Warhammers Thunder Warriors being super soldiers who were “too good” at their jobs was introduced a couple years later https://youtu.be/jef55fOdTEQ?si=38qbYkeg9jOpAxFeGeist was before 40k learn other things
>>287188364Geist was 1986 one year before warhammer. Maybe your dumb edge lord scifi copied it?I wonder if that Geist bro on /m/ will show up according to his translated posts Geist was envisioned as trying be a Gundam like show with a lot of background material
>>287188498Interdasting
>>287188555>Geist was 1986 one year before warhammer. Maybe your dumb edge lord scifi copied it?I'll take the L gracefully, not a big deal.
I’ll support Koichi Ohata anytime
>>287188134Geist is as casual as it gets, just not the modern type of casual
>>287188182>>287188625Real anime boomer hours, I wonder if an true oldfags had a hate boner against manga corps and its odd love of Geist
>>287188268>VHS or Beta tape costs 9800 yen>laserdisc costs 7800 yenhuh
>>287188647What did O’donnel see in Geist? Like it’s crazy he made the company’s mascot and even funded a sequel
>>287187618I am surprised more people don't talk about how it was likely a huge influence on MGS.
>>287188647I think those guys were dead by the 2010s and people craved violent anime again
japan really had a boner for the special command solder shtick, probably inspired by the late 80's-early 90's usa action movies
>>287187618Is he based or cringe for making Japan make more and making the mech his company logo?
>>287189203based and based
>>287188182I never bothered with M.D Geist, it always just look like a Japanese animated version of like a 80's sci fi b-movie but even more boring like something made by Troma or Full Moon which I mean that's what most these OVAs are and that's fine, I'm sure it's ok for what it is. I can't understand getting worked up over it though but those older fans were just really harsh on anime back then like Sage but now I feel we gotten too soft, needs a good middle ground.
>>287189203Based and Geistpilled
>>287187618Isn't this just Geist but not edgy 80's schlocky? Crazy it's trapped on VHS dub and sub.
I want MD Geist 3.
I always thought this guy was cool.
>>287189052How so?
>>287189465>>287189383I always wanted to see exactly what Geist did with the other MDS, Krauser was clearly insane too so the rest must have been worse.I have the prequel comic all 3 issues (it’s a literal comic not manga) about why Geist got locked up but tldr he “accidentally” lets a nuke go off in a populated city. Krutes then orders him imprisoned and the MDS program shut down as they then go to make fight tech armor more
>>2871897972 mutant clone super soldiers, one of them fully embracing his nature and the other one more naive and trying to be 'good' despite of it. Both enjoy all the killingThe powers that be who need these men, but are also afraid of them and try to dispose of them through backhanded means. Geist also looks a lot like Liquid, uses his catchphrases. Then theres the final duel on top of an enormous mobile base thing...'MDS' also sounds a lot like 'MGS' but I am reaching a bit with this one lol
>>287189265>>287189918I find Geist so interesting because he’s clearly the villain and it’s never brought up or justified the OVA is about him so we follow him and he just simply wants to fight since he’s the most dangerous
>>287188134Dumb secondary.
>>287192473Secondary of what? You don't even know what the phrase you're copying means.
>>287187618>opening scene>dude pretends to be dead with a bullet wound in his head>proceeds to blow up a whole heli by litterally jumping on it>walks out of the fire with that shit eating grin>Merciless Soldier by Hironobu Kageyama>mfw all the sheer amount of testosterone reminded me of the time ive lost by watching fotm shit for clicksI miss ovas that dgaf plot like you wouldnt believe
