At least with isekai shows I can see what the appeal is supposed to be, but with these 'redo my high school years' types of premises, I can't see it at all. What’s the appeal supposed to be in going back to a time when you had significantly less freedom because you were a kid who was financially dependent on your parents? Not to mention, depending on your age, all the stuff you currently like may not have been invented yet. This is the lamest, most pathetic type of escapism, the kind that only someone in their late 20s who still has imaginary fights with their childhood bully can come up with. And this is coming from someone who had a pretty uneventful high school experience.
