>reboots and revivals are bad because…THEY JUST ARE, OKAY!?I have never seen a good argument against anime reboots.
>>287197525digital slop can never be SOVL
You have just posted one.
>>287197525why make the same thing again? make new episodes instead
>>287197525Yes.
>>287197525Reboots are a waste of resources. Even if they end up being good, they occupied staff that could've been working on something new. In an industry where studios are chronically overbooked, every reboot means another pitched show had to be shelved to free up their schedule.
>>287197525If you liked the old version it doesn't need a new version. If you didn't like the old version odds are you won't like the new version. Why fucking bother?
>>287197975Yeah, think of the Isekaislop web novel #4407540 that didn't get adapted!
>>287197525>better looking than the manga>better looking than the new animeYeap, 80s animechads win again.
>>287198057Don't worry, that's still getting adapted by the lowest bidder.Committees hire more prestige teams for the remakes of their precious IP. The teams that would otherwise be working on passion projects.
>>287197525>I have never seen a good argument against anime reboots. Then you haven't watched most anime reboots.
>>287198162>Committees hire more prestige teams for the remakes of their precious IPSailorMoonCrystal
>>287198267They hired Toei. You know, the studio that did the first Sailor Moon anime. Safe bet, right? We're suits. We know things.Toei pocketed the money and put a bunch of interns on the project because Dragoncure Super was their bigger cash cow.
>>287198358>Toei hired ToeiYou have no interest in reality whatever.
>>287198408That's literally how business works though.
>>287197525>I have never seen a good argument against anime reboots. You probably have but just like being an obstinate cunt. Revivals and Remakes are bad because it incentivizes companies to keep warming over the same thing over and over and over again instead of investing in original content or giving overlooked series a chance to shine
>>287197525SOVL vs soulless slop
>>287197525Gb2r!! Because is clear you just go with the jerking circle. What are the points mentioned about remakes?>low quality animation.>skipping parts/arcs of story.>censorship.>adding unneeded stuff.>changing story.>removing chars because pansies feel offended.>pandering to certain audience that won't buy the product.>ignoring the real fans and audience that will buy the product. And so on, at least i'm not a sheep like you and i will rather make a group and petitions online to remake things properly instead of being a sheep that will conform with slop like you.
>>287197525>reboots and revivals are bad because…THEY JUST ARE, OKAY!?Because>Animation is worse than when the originals were made>Directors in anime are shit and modern anime simply doesn't have a vision glueing the content of the source material>Directors in anime became rare in general>Artists aren't as good as cel era in general>Animators aren't as good as cel era in general>Cel era in general was better than digital tool based anime >Digital tools aren't used properly due needing more time and work to master it>The industry favored digital shift because it was it was cheap and was quick to make anime>Original shows were done with talent behind>Modern reboots, revivals and remakes are made by shallow industry workers with no sense of artistry for the medium they work anymore>Modern reboots, revivals and remakes end up as gloryfied copy paste of the source material panels missing the point of the medium it's part>Inferior copy pastes since they lack the source material's direction and pace (as usual manga is superior (most cases)), the mangaka was the best director of the work>Digital based as a wholeThey're memoryholed and borderline forgotten quickly for a reason. Only real landmark ends up being "Top watched" in streaming sites, which makes clear they only exist for brand recognition over real reasons, hence why end up, also, with no redeeming qualities.tl, dr; anime is not worth watching past the digital shift aside OVA tier projects which became rare if not extinct at this point, manga is the one to return to.
>>287197525Why though? I'll always see reboots as a cynical cashgrab since it's just retreading old ground with a new coat of paint. It's not like video games where you can argue that mechanics can be added.
>>287201689Videogame remakes became shit since ORAS too.
>>287198739So much more emotion and movement on top... Kauru's dressing down of Kenshin alone has so many kinetic parts, her hair flowing much more naturally, her every word accompanied by a different movement... a quarter century is a long time for things to fall. And it isn't just animu that has fallen.
>>287201273What are the points mentioned about remakes?>low quality animation.>skipping parts/arcs of story.>censorship.>adding unneeded stuff.>changing story.>removing chars because pansies feel offended.>pandering to certain audience that won't buy the product.>ignoring the real fans and audience that will buy the product. But enough about Ranma 1/2 (1989)
>>287197525Cool.
>>287197525Because they're literally almost always soulless garbage
>>287202548>skipping parts/arcs of story>censorship>adding unneeded stuff>changing story>removing charsThese are all hallmarks of older adaptations though. /a/ only focuses on the censorship new adaptations do and ignore censorship from older adaptations. This may not apply to Ranma's nudity but it applies to violence in a lot of older manga adaptations. And there's tons and tons of older adaptations of things that add filler and even add completely new characters and subplots. And anime original endings. >B-but old good new bad!
>>287203253Whoops, wrong post quoted. Should have replied to >>287201273
>>287197525>censorship>show naked tits but remove nips because ...Is this not enough?
>>287197525I liked the original Ranma anime fine. What they should have done is animate the stuff the manga never did. But modern audiences hate the idea of watching long shows so they'd never catch up.
>>287203253>>287202548>leave my flop remake alone they are great and ecchi is offensive for women.Shut your trap fag!!
>>287204470>Doesn't deny that older anime adaptations did as much if not more fucking with the story
Sequelbros and Anime originalbros we were vindicated.
>>287203253Thanks for attaching your "I'm a faggot" reaction pics as always.
>>287202745AH! CROM'S TEETH! The fuck was that
>>287205076>still no arguments to the contrary
>>287205448Ok industryshill lolcow. Still getting filtered by the 70s?
>>287205596see>>287205448
>>287205596Reality check: ur mentally disabled mouth goes yap yap while Hime-chan is like >>287203253Imagine being disrespected by a child haha
>>287202745>>287205115It is meant to be closer to the motormouth and impolitely extroverted Anne that is in the original novel.
>>287198267>removed all the filler
>>287202745>that fucking forehead Remake is better.
>>287206072
>>287206009Is the novel written as badly as the art direction in the new one too? Is that what the crass directing was meant to express?
>>287206200>Is that what the crass directing was meant to express?
>>287206055>removed everything that made the series great>released only slop
>>287198739Modern slop needs to die, and modern slopeaters need to die most of all.
>>287197525no arguments, just pain
>>287206009Well I don't like it
>>287206055>No see it's shorter! That means I can get through it quicker and ad it to my list. The last t hing I have time to be doing is actually engaging with my hobby.
>>287204509The fillers? They weren't bad honestly.Saint Seiya for example did great with Asgard
>>287208238For me it's the 2020 Dai no Daibouken anime. I owe Your Story an apology.
