Late final arc there was a backstory on where their power system came from then 10 chapters later a new big bad from the backstory showed up, fought for a little bit, then disappeared as if nobody gave a shit some alien god came in a wrecked everyone's shit. You could literally cut out Kaguya from the manga and it wouldn't make any difference. Doesn't matter what the left looked like, could have been a talking turd named Mr.Hanky but at least it was foreshadowed arcs in advanced.
