Do you ever just check up on an English Dub once in a while and go "Yep, still shit". https://youtu.be/NYFJqJGvUHE?si=wrodQIuwYDlNUg7w
no, I have a working brain
>>287220057>watching Tsugai dubbedwhy would I self impose that hell on myself.nyway what would be your Tsugai? Mine would be On/Off
>>287220057No, but sometimes I am exposed to them by accident and feel great physical pain.
>>287220216>Download Dual Audio>English is the default
I checked out the frieren dubs, weren't that terrible. Frieren sounded like a mommy.
>>287220057No. I don't even try.
Nobody with an IQ over 70 intentionally seeks out things to get mad about. People who aren't retarded are accidentally exposed to garbage, like the two shows from the apocethary diaries studios going on this season that are short and are just the manga panels being motion tweened.
>>287220312That's when I remux the entire batch and delete the dub track entirely.
>>287220312"-dual"
>>287220057my experiences with dubs include 10 minutes of fma that was so bad it made me drop it (found out later this is a dubnigger favorite) when i was a newfag and several accidental exposures over the years, and i'm going to continue to do my best to avoid them
>>287220057Frieren's dub voice grew on me.
>>287220057>Do you ever just check up on an English DubNo.
>>287220086That's fair
>>287220749I like Kill La Kill's Dub
>>287220057It's literally https://youtu.be/ci8dIpNcyEY
It's okay to watch dubs. Though, some are crusty, like the movie trilogy for the original Gun Dam. The episodic version sounds way better in English.
Why are all english VA's so breathy when they do their lines now? I don't remember Richard Epcar exhaling this much when he was doing this stuff.
>>287223405Because Crunchyroll doesnt check for quality l, because simulcasting has ruined the quality of professional dubbing
>>287223212>HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!111!!1!1gets me every time
I dunno. Bleach is one of the few good dubs nowadays. The rest all sound the same and by the same I mean amateurish Youtube fan project quality
>>287223405They're too close to the mics. Also poor direction and editing and studios choosing to use cheaper recording equipment
>>287220498>to get mad abouthe's not doing it to get mad about, he's just doing it to see if it's still bad
>>287224672Also since covid more dubbing has been allowed to happen in the person's "home studio"
I briefly had a local group who only watched dubbed anime. I didn't actually sit in with them often, but I did sometimes. This >>287223405 is the main thing I noticed. In every dub they put on, the characters always talked like they were trying to whipser-yell to avoid waking up the neighbors. The worst one I saw was some extremely generic isekai called Zokyuu or something, where the gimmick was the main character was an animator who got isekaied into her favorite generic fantasy anime (but never did anything interesting with the setup). The best way I can think to describe the main character's acting is "theater kid being allowed to do improv, so every line is LISTEN TO HOW NONCHALANT AND SNARKY AND FUNNY I AM" Every damn time she opened her mouth, you could just hear the dub voice actress grinning into the mic because of how great she thought her delivery was.
>>287224672Vocal mics are meant to be close to your mouth. I'm curious what their setups are to be getting substandard results like this.
>>287220216>>287220312the absolute worst is when it's some old and extremely otaku-ish stuff that makes you wonder why they even made a dubwhy the FUCK does popotan have a dub and why is it so bad ended up hearing a bit of it while while skipping forward in an episode and man.
>>287220057No because it will permanently ruin it for me.
