He's eventually found by Madelyn with the tome of wisdom left behind by Roswaal for Subaru, and he joins the final battle. Madelyn establishes herself as one of the Nine Divine Generals.

She became hunted and left to not cause trouble to those around her. The Crimson Scorpion stays by her side as her only friend. She has mastered the Authority and can hold her own against anyone, but it still requires a sacrifice. She has forgotten the two who are frozen, but still protects the glacier. Beatrice's words and experience help her and they fight the Mad Prince in the end.
