Memes gave this impression that this whole anime is just silly nonsense.When it is indeed silly nonsense, but sometimes also incredibly clever, with some of the best cliffhangers in media history and indeed some hard hitting emotional scenes.
while i do agree it’s written better than snk it’s very 2000ish anime looking and both the visuals and humor are really outdated(even though i think it looks cool,its less attractive to modern audience) while snk and death note have an ageless style(at least death note does,for snk it’s more bc the anime benefitted from tiktok and the mappa money)
