It's about character design. Gosho follows certain rules about character design, and we've seen a reminder in the twins case the other day: genetic traits are displayed on page for internal consistency. This rules out Poochie (God, how I hate that she can do karate with a bike like she's Kir or Vermouth despite having none of their background apparently). The other two characters gave us out some hints about their identity already, but now with Vermouth's lines I'd immediately guess Bourbon is Blondie, even if I wasn't 100% sure Glasses-kun is Shuichi. Because Vermouth's agenda is NOT the same as the BO agenda. This opens up character design rules: now Blondie can have the looks of a Good Guy despite being a BO member. Because he's in some cahoots with Vermouth, and she's not exactly BO. Same as Kir, if you think about it.

The case works on three different levels: as an episode, as part of the Bourbon arc, and it offers meta clues to a mystery that hasn't been introduced yet. The last fact is also true about the case before it and this one.. Unlike the illusion case, where you could tell that it had a lot of effort put into it but it just felt off.
