Pete in every fight has given his opponents something they wanted in a way, for Firecracker it was someone who respected him, Scourge was someone that'd listen to him and thinks he could even redeem himself and Florida Man finally found someone that made him sober, that made him reflect and question his decisions, I don't see Pete giving the death EC needs himself, but Pete's getting something from this fight, he finally has the chance to go all out and try all the hundreds of techniques he invented thus making me believe that he'll either lose but be happy that there's strong people out there or he wins and gives EC the chance to die with someone willing to kill him. I think that might also be why Pete loses, he questioned himself if he'd kill someone to not lose a fight and I don't think he can, also referencing how he couldn't stomp the cockroaches when he worked as a bouncer.
