This concert felt pretty pointless compared to the ones in symphogear and princession. Those ep 1 conserts were a nice bit of worldbuilding and character work while also introducing the main conflicts of the season. This one is just some bitch singing, completely disconnected to the plot of the episode.

She got retroactively branded as one but she was really just the young ruler of a dying empire using the means she had to maintain political relevance for her and her country. Caesar was relatively old and the most important and powerful man in the whole western world, and seducing him was a smart political move to keep herself in power as well. Then after he died she just did the same with one of the relevant people left. If anything Caesar is more of a slut for cheating on his wife with her. Having had multiple kids with the guy she ended up with afterwards is just what was expected at the time. It's just that they ended on the losing side of the following civil war, and so her reputation got trashed.
But if anything the fact that Egypt became a province after her death shows she was right in her approach. That was certainly a messy first episode. The moment the spirit fight happened everything sped by way too quickly. The way the spirit possession works, how they can summon fellow spirits and how the songs are tied to the combat isn't explained very well. Both Symphogear and Princession had much smoother first episodes with the songs more clearly tied into the combat.

Nah. Even in the worst projections the UK's population-weiighed knife-related violence and death statistics average around the same as the US's, and in most cases they're slightly better. Both are still massively ahead of actual knife violence heavy countries like Lesotho. Yeah and making your first episode's inciting incident "MC is possessed by a ghost and now wants to fuck every guy she sees" is still a hell of a choice when that's a literal hentai plot. Then you have Cleo herself being all horny on screen during the music video. It's a very jarring swerve into explicit sex territory when you start with a premise that doesn't hint at it.
