I have my fair share of gripes but all in all it was a very entertaining read. I think it does “lolsorandum” humor very well, a lot better than any modern series like say CSM which is retarded and cringe. The general consensus seems to be that the mid section of the manga is its best part, and I’m inclined to agree. I think it’s largely due to Izumi’s involvement, dude was such a great antagonist. He gave up his perfect chad life to instead murder aliens full time like a violent sperg. When he died it felt like the series lost something. My favorite moment has to be the mission where the objective is to kill Kurono’s girlfriend. The Osaka arc was great fun and served as a fitting sendoff to the original premise. As for complaints I have some pretty common ones, like the vampires & Kurono’s brother having zero plot relevance and the final arc dragging out for too long. However I also feel like Kurono himself grew to be quite the boring mc. People gush over his character development but I honestly liked him better when he was a vindictive shithead, at least then he was entertaining. Once he begins taking on responsibilities his new personality can be bogged down to “muh gf” and it gets fucking exhausting. My god that final arc was a bitch to get through. I wish that him and Kato had more meaningful interactions with one another, after the very first mission they really don’t bond at all. Sucks because they kicked off the story together and the panel of them emerging from the ocean victorious in chapter 383 was fucking kino. Nishi’s fate was overly cruel, I really don’t get why Oka started giving him subtle redemptions just to kill him off the way he did. Kurono was so fucking annoying during the last arc that I honestly wanted Nishi to kill him, no joke kek.I’d rate it a 7/10.
