It's time for your weekly dose of violence.
>>287282503Akita culo...
>>287282591age is getting to her...
End of chapter.
>>287282625Like I care!
>>287282625rip hag, was nice knowing ya
>>287282625s-she jobbed?!
>>287282625Nooooooo. I hope she sticks around as something like an extra coach
>>287282625next chapter she gives him the ol' dick twist
how the fuark he tanks everything
>>287282472>HoseaAt least look up the spelling of the expression if you're not familiar with it.
>>287282625>both wrestlers losing in the same chapter
>>287282625Very good chapter. The Sprawl explanation and use of it is correct. Makes it really look like our boy Akita is learning actual combat.
>>287282578>Get hyped as a dangerous psycho>Fight last two exchanges and loses immediately Why can't these fights not fucking suck
>>287283378I hate that I honestly can't tell if it's a retarded AI or a retarded human, still worth a giggle
>>287282625Wrestle bros.....
>>287282625>Almost a mirror with Akita's fightShe will show how you should deal with strike to head and bleeding, unlike jobber brother did.
>>287283533He did throw him out of a like 4th floor window with zero hesitation. That's psycho material.Blame the author turning it into a joke with the guy jumping after just a few seconds and both guys being unhurt.
>>287284814The Pro wrestling training made him able to handle such bumps
rape?and no, dreams don't count
>>287285924reverse rape soon
>>287283481Yeah that was just flat out sprawl and brawl. He really owes the karate guy from chapter 1 a favour though, that lightning punch has basically become his super move. >>287283533I think the implication is he's so used to just obliterating people one-sidedly that getting injured *at all* made him go ballistic. But it's wierd because in the very next sequence we find out that he sparred with his brother a lot but his brother learned takedown defence whereas he didn't learn any striking defence.
>>287282578The HSDK dump has done a great disservice to this manga.
>>287282518this is illegal in MMA right, can't knee people to the top or back of the head
>>287286285How?
51 chapter? I thought this shit was axed long ago
>>287286295In Japanese MMA I think you could get away with it so long as it wasn't to the back of the guy's neck. For instance when Coleman beat Vovchanchyn it was with a very similar sequence but Vovchanchyn was on his back. >>287286285The funny thing is they're on polar opposites of the realism spectrum (or at least that was the intent) but Kenichi's growth happened more gently, early on he was fighting a boxer with one arm and having a tough time, and it took him a long time before he was even in the same category as Miu. But Akita has beaten:a retired top ranked full contact karatekaa hardened criminal with a knifea nationally ranked wrestlerand even beat Setsuna during their fight in her apartment even though Setsuna was able to beat a heavyweight MMA champ.
>>287286303It's awful in comparison.Akita's a boring MC so the author should give us more of what we're after.
>>287286387like Kenichi had any interesting fights that weren't Renka and Rachel sexually humiliating each other after Ragnarok
>>287286387The annoying thing is that I get what you're saying but as >>287283481 said this fight was still satisfying, a "how do I beat a wrestler" resolution that came down to "actual takedown defence" instead of some whacky submission or strike is actually very gratifying. And yet Akita is *still* incredibly boring, his design is boring, his personality is uninteresting, he rarely feels like he's earned his moments because it was a relatively short while ago that he started training and his training isn't given a huge time focus. The sprawl could have easily been introduced before now but it wasn't. >>287286468There are lots of good fights post-Ragnarok.Shinpaku Alliance vs Team Capoeira Kenichi vs ShouKenichi vs Boris Kenichi and Apachai vs Koukin and AgaardHongou vs JunazardTakada vs Lugh IIKenichi vs NajimaIn fact Rachel vs Renka is one of the worst, even if you're looking for pure sex appeal it's not really that interesting.
>>287282535>bleeding to death from a scalp cutSomeone beat the hack into next year.
>>287286524mehlol nomehmehmehThis was almost good but there is no build up or stake at alllol no
>>287286546"Of course, Ao Shinonome was in no danger of bleeding to death" - can you read, Anon? There's a big fat "NO" there, I.E. he's in "NO" danger of bleeding to death.
Wow, the wrestling hag sucks. She'll probably get raped next chapter.
>>287283481No. Knowing what a sprawl is and nailing it in a real fight is nothing alike. What a dumb story.
>>287286562I speedread every page that doesn’t feature the sexy hag.
>>287286555Those are all great fights, but how was there no build-up or stakes for Takada vs Lugh II? Firstly, it's a rematch, they had already fought before and Lugh had nearly broken Takada's arm if Kenichi hadn't intervened. Secondly, aside from the fact that it's happening at the same time Yomi is making a concerted effort to crush the Shinpaku Alliance, Lugh specifically wants to cripple Takada's arm and put him in the same position he was in waaaay back at the start of the manga with no hope of a boxing career. So it's extremely tense for Takada.
>>287286622like that was ever going to happen
>>287286524Yeah, the sprawl and fight tidbits are good, but the conclusion was terrible. Even if it ended the same way most of Kenichi's fight go, with the opponent self-destructing, it wasn't satisfying because Akira barely egged him on.I guess all of these guys are supposed to be mooks, but it's about time he had a proper feature fight.>>287286468Now that you mention it, the wealth of returning characters were what made Kenichi fun. This has too many one offs so far.
>>287286646That's meta though, going "well of course the good guy is going to win" is ridiculous, that doesn't mean there aren't stakes. This is one of the few arcs that actually kills a morally good recurring character too.>>287286697>Now that you mention it, the wealth of returning characters were what made Kenichi fun. This has too many one offs so far.Well it's only 50 chapters long so far so there's not a lot of room for recurring characters yet. Aside from the current team of Akita/Miu/Setsuna, we've also got the karate bully and gyaru girl, and I guess the actual TV show producer and his secretary.
>>287286773no, not literally who salary man!
>>287286387Would it be better if Akita were a girl?
The fights really aren't that well done.Feels like the only thing that keeps this series afloat is the ridiculously hot FeMC.
>>287286803I think it would make the manga even harder to take seriously, Akita is a stringbean but at least he's a guy, and Rikudou's a girl but she's (apparently) someone who's been training martial arts for a long time.If you had a girl who'd been training for 2 months sprawling on top wrestlers and knocking them out there wouldn't even be the pretence that the manga is realistic anymore. Though I guess they gave that up when one of the brothers jumped out a third floor window and landed like it was nothing.
>>287286834it's a fun manga
>>287286773>only 50 chaptersThat's a year of serialization and 5/6 volumes. Many manga don't even live that long. Tournament should have been the time to mass introduce useful characters, but they've all been jobbers. Btw, I'm still expecting a Miu heel turn any chapter now. >>287286803Only if she's hot and gets into ryona/dress break situations. >>287286834Just make her fight other girls.
>>287287081Hmm, you make some good points there. I was going to compare it to Kenichi but by this point Kenichi had introduced Takeda, made him Kenichi's friend, at the same time as establishing the six Ryouzanpaku masters and Miu and Kenichi's family. In comparison BB spent the first two volumes pitting Rikudou against a series of total jobbers who will probably never show up again (though Miu mentioned the MMA guy in passing) and while I liked karate dad a lot it's clear he's not going to be coming back and the knife guy and anyone from Bartleby's mob are probably never coming back either.
Its really hard to read this manga sometimes. I appreciate the realism with combat and stuff but the MC's house getting burned down and they just gloss over it like its no big deal really killed the whole realism aspect of this manga for me.
>>287287439a woman beat up a grown ass man and your complaint is about realism?
>>287286295Who cares about what's illegal? IT IS ALL ABOUT VIOLENCE!
>>287287439It's more like pseudo-science than realism.
I still like the manga. The little morsels of Setsuna keep me nourished and the story isn't that bad, we just haven't seen Akita real fail and make a comeback. It's kind of hard with the premise since if he loses he's out of the game.
>>287288397He's actually not out of the game if he loses, his rank just drops. We don't even know what his rank is ATP, though it must be at least in the middle of the pack.
>>287288429Wait, really? I thought you can gain rank by winning but one loss and you're out.
>>287288909According to the designer if you lose a fight or avoid one your ranking drops, and whoever is ranked first when the three month time period elapses is the winner. I think that explains stuff like Miu being proud of her #33 rank (less than Karate dad btw) because there are still likely a lot of people whereas if it was elimination then I'd be surprised if there were more than 25 people left considering Akita has had the chance to have 2 fights already.
>>287289014Naruhodo.
>>287282585how to find practice partner like her?
>>287282503finally some fan service i can get behind
>>287288429>>287289014In that case we're due for a loss at some point to inject some tension back into the story.
>>287286021>reverse rape soonWhen Miu wakes up.
>>287290199I suspect the same thing but it needs to happen pretty sharpish because I'm struggling to see how these twins aren't stronger than anyone except Reiji at this point."Expert Muay Thai kickboxer who also has really strong takedown defence" is actually very strong!
>>287282625The whole lead up of how dangerous and good at cutting elbows are was good until he decided to go show it from a downward angle which is less effective. This is banned in most MMA organizations like UFC so I get why they did it so it gets a pass.
>>287283533This happens in Baki a lot which most people are using as the main inspiration for martial arts series. It also could be a case of trying to mimic how fast fast can end irl.
>>287282625women are WEAK
I'm not complaining, but why is Muay Thai suddenly everywhere now?
>>287292486Gaolang's legacy
>>287292486-Incredibly popular and effective martial art IRL-Knees and elbows look cool-Aesthetically pleasing outfits, headbands, prajeds, shorts, wraps-Stuff like karate seen as old hatIt's the same reason that in Archer they make a big deal about doing krav maga instead of karate, except Muay Thai is an actual martial art not six weeks of military combatives with branding.
>>287292534Gaolang way more of a boxer than a nak muay even though he does both.
>>287292486Case of it was in lots of stuff but is now starting to get into more mainstream series. >>287292486Has been dominating irl MMA and has borderline become the default striking background in the same way BJJ has become almost the default ground game. Wing chun is more the one I don’t get why it’s suddenly everywhere.
>>287282591is that perspective or her ass getting into 100s?
If Miu keeps being a character or gets thrown away will determine a lot about this manga. It was nice to have a character that could do stuff beside karate guy who only shows up sometimes.
>>287282625I would've been mad if he jobbed right after his brother but Miu is looking like a joke now.
>>287288429>>287288909It feels like its confusing because even if you aren't out after losing it feels like it because the characters who lose arent going to keep coming back again and again because it will feel unsatisfying from an outside of the manga perspective. Dont know if they will make a line about characters avoid people they lost to or why people arent doing salty run backs.
>>287282625Can an elbow to the head really send you to sleep. I bet it can hurt a lot, but it causes enough damage ro make you pass out ?
>>287282625>Miu jobbedlol she will become rapemeat before Akita gets to her
>>287294969Yes your elbow is really hard and the top and back of your head are not as hard as the front. Also heads are weird and you never know what a random hit might do.
>>287294899Well the karate dad flat out retired I think because he decided to change how he lived his life rather than using No Rules to vent his frustration. The knife guy I'm not sure, quite frankly from what we find out about Renji he was lucky to escape with only a boot to the liver. Some of these guys are getting injured so badly that they won't be able to continue.
>>287292594>effective
>>287295629If you think Muay Thai is ineffective I'd like to hear what you think an effective martial art is.
>>287295667good old boxing+grappling duo
>>287282625this cant be the end 30 year old women pretending to be school girls needs to be explored more.
>>287295706I mean that's very effective for sure but both of those can struggle against leg kicks.
>>287295897there's a reason why you don't see muay thai specialists at the top anymore
>>287296017Bantamweight champ takes quite a few nods from Muay Thai on top of the Boxing and Wrestling (Petr Yan), so does Volk (FW) current LHW champion is basically a pure kickboxer (Pereira). But MT has a significant influence on MMA striking, which is undeniable.
>>287296017I feel like all fighting Manga and even stuff like video games are stuck in a place of not addressing the fact that no one just fights with once single style anymore and everyone is basically an MMA fighter for lack of a better term.
>>287296097those are all kickboxers. the only one closer to being a muay thai specialist is yan but even then he is much more closer to a boxer. tiger muay thai has always been a meme.a specialist would be fighters like Aldo and Oliveira himself but those are becoming extinct.Pereira is an anomaly>>287296143the main pillars are always the same: grappling and boxing.
>>287292621Gaolang being closer to a Muay mat fighting always felt weird to me
>>287296415The line between kickboxing and muay thai has always been pretty hazy especially in MMA where you can throw elbows and knees. Olives doesn't fight much like a Muay Thai guy, and if you've ever seen Aldo fight he has heavy boxing influence. MMA obviously heavily uses both boxing and wrestling but leg kicking is still really important as a range tool, even if MMA leg kicking is sort of its own thing now because there's so much more focus on the calf kick. Trying to boil down MMA to just "wrestling and boxing" doesn't really work.Topuria is himself an anomaly because he's got such incredible physical attributes; it's difficult to commit to an attrition strategy against someone so blisteringly fast and powerful.
>>287282475I think the mc should marry the wrestling hag instead
>>287296938olives foundation is muay thai (from chute boxe) and jewjits. aldo's entire career (specially WEC) before getting his knees busted was muay thai and excelent tdd. both are muay thai specialists but with an even better grappling skill.Topuria's physical attributes is nothing out of ordinary. he is simply a guy with excellent fundamentals on both boxing and grappling. same fighters like him area already rising like the young Vallejos and Erosa.calf kick have always been a part of other martial artists, way before it was "popularized" by benson henderson. muay thai only got in the limelight because of its influence in Vale Tudo and Chute Boxe.
>>287297260>Erosa*Douglas
>>287297260Chute Boxe doesn't do traditional Muay Thai. They do a Brazilian interpretation of Muay Thai; yes Charles will wreck people from the clinch and has a good front kick but that's not only what Muay Thai is about. But then I guess if I'm being puritanical about that very few people would qualify.Aldo had great knees and leg kicks but he also got a tremendous jab about halfway through his career and his boxing was insane by the end of his championship run, though as you say the most notable thing about him was always his rock solid TDD. I wouldn't consider either him or Olives a "muay thai specialist". Topuria's physical attributes are insane, prior to the Josh Emmett fight he was not considered a particularly slick guy, he was a raging bull. His boxing improved extremely quickly (compare his performances against Volk and Holloway to him falling over himself against Bryce Mitchell). He was a guy who always had great attributes and then the technique caught up.The calf kick is a bit odd, it's not really a muay thai kick or really gets associated with any martial art. It became popular in MMA because it's totally suited to the needs of MMA.
>>287297809if you want to be a purist then muay thai becomes even less effective. brazilian version was adapted exactly for a more generalist scenario because of the jewjits rivalries, vale tudo and mma.both olives and aldo are muay thai specialists in the mma pool of fighters.
>>287282625rape time
>>287286369I was thinking of this seires mostly as Kengan but It kind of does have more in common with Kenichi in terms of fighting and girls.
>>287298657If I was to compare it specifically to anything in particular it would be Holyland because they're both trying to be street fight type series or maybe How to Fight because of the streaming angle, or Fight Class 3 because of the "hot teacher" angle (Miu was not Kenichi's primary teacher) and because of its mean-spiritedness. But some differences emerge from that - all three of those series had better main characters, even Holyland. I thought the No Rules shift would put the series in a better position because Setsuna is just not cut out to be a lead by herself but Akita isn't either, there's just nothing interesting about him and because his wins don't feel earned the more he improves the more grating he'll become.
>>287282518 I remember a gif where a guy tries to fight a girl but the girl takes him to the ground and knees him in the head multiple ties until the dude stops moving and the girl takes up running.
>aiiie this scrub used a "technique" on me>better enter JOBBING mode
I like every thread being a girls are hot and I want to see them humiliated thread or a breakdown down techniques thread.
>>287292486>but why is Muay Thai suddenly everywhere now?Is it?
>>287296017>If it's not in UFC or some other MMA faggotry, it's not effectiveThis is some sissy queer thinking. The molester in the street isn't Connor McGregor or the drunk hobo is Khabib, and fights don't exclusively happen in the ring.
>>287296143I think the thing that really bothers me is that MMA fighters only ever show up in other series specifically to job. It's particularly bad in BB since they've had some truly embarrassing performances (lost to Setsuna, lost to Akita in one surprise hit, got crippled by Renji) but it's a consistent pattern. I think Kengan's the only series where MMA isn't a complete joke and they still job all the time in Omega. Boxing can get it bad but not as bad, sometimes boxers will get respect but MMA only ever jobs.
>>287302590Actually one exception - in Holyland they're reasonably strong, and sometimes in manwha they get a fair shake.
>>287299413Post it, I need to fap to it
