And why do nu-shounen like JJK, MHA, CSM and KnY always handicap their worldbuilding by making Japan the center of their supernatural stories and basically ignoring the rest of the world altogether? If they don't have the creativity to create a new world like Dragon Ball, One Piece, Naruto and so on, then at least make other countries relevant when the stakes become stupidly high. And no, just one random fodder like Star and Stripe or Miguel showing up to job while the series specifically showcase Japan is sugoi number one doesn't count.

That said there are smart ways and stupid ways to keep your story localized to a smaller place. JJK and MHA do it poorly. Bleach's solution of "there are different soul worlds for different cultures, but that's not where the story is so there's no need to get into it" is a lot better because it isn't reaching or overly dismissive.
