New chapter has been translated.
I dropped this manga really fast, because I got ragebaited by Ozen.
what is even going on
>>287299042shouldnt the "paper where lies cannot be" be noted under Immutable letter?
>>287299076No
>>287298705holy fuck imagine
>Nanachi out of commission againJust kill her off already
>>287299224!___________________________!
>>287299056The Scholar is Wakuna. Also, the 7th layer curse destroys the soul and Srajo's coffin is a relic that imitates this effect like Bondrewd's curse needles. The one reported case of someone dying of the 7th layer curse that Srajo mentioned was just the only one recorded on immutable paper.
>>287290104Threesome
>>287298683>>287298705>>287299507You just KNOW Tsukushi sniffed these pages so much they turned blank and he had to redo them at least once.
>>287299588You mean he had to buy new monitor?
>>287299507shit, someone post the rest of the chapter https://cubari.moe/read/imgur/1Ee2QBC/1/1/

>>287299840OK, that was all.
The guy who dumped the first 43 pages fucked up and missed a page somewhere. There's only 48 pages and there should be 49.
Sou desu, watashi wa Fluffzen.
>>287299224What happened to my son Nanachi?
>>287299881It's the page after this one >>287299251. It's actually missing from the cubari upload.
Quick, send somebody atop the highest peak to call for TLanon.
>>287292267This is a clever approach. Are there any artefacts that don't have an auction name?

>>287300282curse warding box
>>287300132srajo killed that page
>>287300282Some of Bondrewd's have fake auction names. He never brought them up or even manufactured them himself and just gave them auction names because white whistle = chuuni.
>>287300574Thankfully it was recorded in the immutable archive. (It's on mangadex too)
>>287299912
>>287298683first lol in a whilethanks for the translation
>>287300540>>287300594Cool. I'd never thought about it before.
Is this the last manga translated by /a/? The only other one before Tengoku Daimakyou
>>287300924bokuyaba is translated by an /a/non, though it will be ending soon.
>>287300924in what way do you mean "last"?updated most recently?picked up by /a/ most recently?last one standing after all others perished?
>>287300986Oh, I didn't know>>287301009I mean the one that gets translated and dumped by an /a/non.
>>287298758you didn't clap when our protagonists got their ass handed to them and belittled only to shrug it off and act amicably?

>>287301128I wonder how much better Reg would do against her with the power of the whistleProbably not much better considering he still couldn't exactly overcome Nishagora and Nisha got her shit pushed in by Ozen at some point
>>287299143>smirking after admitting to killing red whistlesi was hoping srajo wouldn’t be the villain but damn, looks like all white whistles are crazy
Guys
>>287301326206 panels!
>>287301287I've been leery of her since seeing that she had all those whistles but I deluded myself into thinking maybe they were from dead comrades or somethingShe doesn't really have any reason to try and kill Riko and co at the moment though so I guess we're going to have this uneasy alliance last for another handful of chapters (at least until Nanachi's healed) before someone's hand gets forced
>>287301348I counted about 250 panels in 72.
>>287301194Now he knows her weakness. The hag doesn't stand a chance.
>>287301364Riko’s about to tell the others about the necklace so Srajo is definitely going to act
>>287301326The last time, he started counting from panel 129 and finished after three weeks. Let's think about it.
>>287301364>She doesn't really have any reason to try and kill Riko and co at the momentThe problem with teaming up with people who use souls as a resource is they always have a reason to kill you.Hell, Bondrewd didn't have a reason but stupid shit like 'reason' wasn't gonna quench his curiosity.
>>287301501chapter in late june?
>>287301999Hope in early.
>>287298968>>287299056if the scholar wasn't home, why does Cravali have the letter?
>>287302074Delvers have sticky fingers.
>>287302074He knows a scholar he frequents probably. Saw him once, got the letter, came back later for a second visit for the "balm".Or, while the scholar was out, he picked up the letter while looking for him. This one would explain why the scholar didn't explain shit about it to him.
Why did 72 take an extra month to come out?
>>287302121>>287302117so he wasn't supposed to know probably is my takeaway here then
>>287302137editor deciding whether to post the chapter with uncensored shit in it or not, please understand.
>>287302137Editor-san is a retard.
>>287301287They probably deserved it>>287301364They're close to Hello Abyss because Nanachi saved a twin's life, all they have to do is make Nanachi a Hail Hex and they can get rid of her old team
>>287301999>>287302042Finished early June. Released mid-July.
>>287302207It could be finished in early or mid-May, you know.
>>287298683How does he keep getting away with it?
>>287298683Well atleast it wasn't her butt
>>287302200Nanachi is loyal. She would never betray Hello Abyss.
>>287298600Faputa is going to job against the Hail Hex.
>>287302200>all they have to do is make Nanachi a Hail Hex and they can get rid of her old team>ANOTHER white whistle wants to steal the bun away from Riko and RegShe's too irresistible, huh
>>287302406She's a hard counter to the nuggs, they can only blow up half of her arms!
>>287302147All of the real knowledge seems to be deliberately limited to certain people, so yeah you're right. I agree that Cravali wasn't supposed to know this.
>>287302453No real reason to teach a solo delver anything unless you're trying to recruit them, honestly.

>>287302674>Srajo: Riko-chan, little nnaa-chan, let me show you what we've been holding inside this coffin before we part ways...
>>287302406I don't think they're going to fight. Bondrewd cut off one of Reg's arms and made Nanachi suicidal, including by ultra cursing a random innocent girl to a fate considerably worse than death. And he actively resisted Hello Abyss' attempt to keep exploring deeper into the abyss. And yet they fought him the absolute bare minimum necessary to continue their journey. So far the only hostile actions taken by Hail Hex against Hello Abyss are stink bombing Reg and then subjecting him to "the test". While we now know that test was extremely threatening, it ultimately ended up being no worse than the initiation Ozen gave them. And then they gave Reg a bath. Since then they have been nothing but helpful and now most of their members clearly have a personal attachment to at least Nanachi. But really, they seem to like Riko's whole crew.I don't see Hail Hex firing the first shot, and we know Riko won't.
>>287298612>it's abyss magic I ain't gotta explain shit.jpg
>>287302980
>>287302980This is definitely extraterrestrial technology
>>287302737Faputa would job against the Hail Hex, if they fought.
>>287301194You do realize that Reg could take them both out in less than a second if he uses his only weapon?
>>287299027>the orphanageguys, half the seats were empty
>>287303310Each white whistle has their own methods for obtaining tactical cunny
>>287301364I think Srajo didn't attack the hallo abyss because they're narehates too, at least nanch and fooper
>>287303297The incinerator is not an I win button. He was spamming it against Bondrewd but couldn't hit him. And Bondrewd is a nerd who gets bullied by all the real white whistles.>>287303310I don't think they killed that many. That's probably more to do with mortality rates. Riko and Natt both almost died on their first delve. And something similar happens in the game. There are probably times when they get an influx of new kids and need the seats. But they empty out quick.
>>287303297By that logic Bon must be the strongest white whistle because he can one-shot anyone with Sparagmos, but that's demonstrably not the caseYou have to actually land the attack for it to matter and Reg has a notoriously hard time actually hitting shit with the incinerator.
>>287299101>heh, want to check out my huge back scar?this is not very ladylike
>>287299101Sherumi and Menae also have scars on their backs from where parts of their spine were replaced with relics. Maybe Srajo has the same spine relic? This causes overheating in the twins, so that would explain her open outfit beyond team coordination.
>>287298612>the slider was added later>doesn't start showing anything until the slider is activatedDid it just not do anything before that was added?
>>287303446>>287303489Because Bond is just as agile a long-range fighter as Reg, while Ozen/Nisha is just a huge, clumsy targetsAs a solo combat unit, Bondrewd is indeed the strongest white whistle shown so far, though he is still weaker than Reg. Hail hex is the strongest group because there are five of them, not because a fat cat can throw punches, she's probably even the most useless of them
>>287302618She's both. A very sweet slut. Kindhearted sluts are always the best. That dichotomy between their lewd, indecent attire and their big, pure hearts is most powerfully boner-inducing aura of gap moe imaginable. Specifically because they are the types who are always the best in bed. They radiate an irresistible an overwhelming aura of freaky, fun-loving, vanilla sex.
>>287303612Maybe you had to manually twist it before they figured out you can do it easier
>>287303612You had to use abyss flippers or telekinesis before
>>287303446>>287303331I actually was just acting retarded that time. I might re-read a few of the earliest chapters to see if there are any suspicious moments from the beginning.
>>287303639>Ozen>clumsyShe threw Reg's arm back at him and flash stepped over to him while it was still mid-flight. Strong = fast. And of the white whistle crews we've seen, her crew members are easily the least competent. Which means she's been surviving as a white whistle on her own prowess alone for longer than Lyza, Srajo, and probably Bondrewd have even been alive. If a roboshota with a laser beam was enough to kill her, she'd be dead.
>>287302618Tsukushi just keeps making banger after banger.
Ok but>8 Regs in total on the volume covers Including volume 12 with the nuggies and Reg's hand>Vol 14 (pic rel) is Reg alone>Only 5 Rikos totalThis confirms that Reg is more of an MC than Riko ever was and I mean it always felt like that which is funny.
What killed the hype?
>>287304416Why's his hair red here, anyway? Is his super-powered white whistle activation form supposed to have red hair?
>>287304493its not lewd enough for pervertsit's too lewd for normiesno one is satisfied
>>287304305>Strong = fastNo, amnezia Reg was barely stronger or faster than an average black whistle, there's no point in comparing him to anyone>she's been surviving as a white whistle on her ownShe spends most of her time drinking on the second layer, she's also the only one who didn't even make it to the fifth, just a pupnugs will be enough to kill the granny
>>287304529Because brown is just dark red and Tsukushi is color blind.
>>287304529>What is color theory?
>>287301287Tsukushi really did his best to give her crazy eyes here too. It's like you've got a really cute dog as a pet that you really love, but then one day it freaks out randomly and kills somebody else's beloved dog. You look at your dog and it's look hasn't changed it all but now you can only see it as a rabid killer despite looking the same. That's the best way I can describe the vibe Srajo gives off here.
>>287304575>fifth*sixth
>>287304583Ah, I forgot that. I thought his type of colour blindness only affected red-green though (hence Riko's and Prushka's eyes changing colour) but I suppose it makes sense.>>287304602Not that.
>>287304529>>287304583>>287304638Tsukushi's color blindness aside and based on the background, it makes sense that it's the lighting.
>>287304638It is, anon even explained it to you, retard
>>287302137I think it is too much of coincidence that it came out immediately after all of the anime merch events and announcements were done. I choose to believe it was a marketing decision and not just a product of incompetence or something.
>>287304575Nothing about Reg can change the fundamental truth that strong = fast. The same strength that made her the only person who could carry the curse warding box is applied when she lunges.>didn't even make it to the fifthOK, she might be fast. But you read faster.
>>287304707i'm convinced people who reflexively call others retards are themselves retards.retard.
>>287304719>Nothing about Reg can change the *headcanon*Do you really think a powerlifter can punch faster than a lightweight boxer? Not to mention move. It's just common sense ffs
>>287301287>>287301364>>287302200The fact that she's being so casual about it and that it gets used on anyone they kill makes me think its a Wonder of U situation where some qualifier needs to be met by the intended victim and thry have no direct control over it.
>>287304743I didn't ask what you're convinced of, at least brush up on the subject to the level of elementary school art class before you answer
>still has so much presence throughout the arcI refuse to believe he's dead. I wonder if Rimjob and Nigweasle will find him and rehydrate him.
>>287304909I wouldn't be surprised if the Mythogrohper had a second passkee that played a different video.
>>287304930We all know where that smell will come from.
What if Reg can't remember Clawbot well because Srajo killed her and erased everyone's memories of her?
>>287305028I had imagined him to be more noble than weirdo
>>287305169>Reg's memory loss after saving Riko was a reg herring>That was actually when Srajo went Shang Tsung on a bot that interacted with the majority of his memories
Remember that according to what Nisha said during her fight with Reg, we've still very likely only seen a little bit of what Ozen is actually capable ofThe Immovable is truly terrifying
>>287305206It's very sweet, he really loves her
>>287305226Sorry hagfag, but it's unlikely we'll ever see her in action again
>>287298705rare reg nostrils just so he can sniff the funk from across the room
>>287305266Not him, but they do keep dropping hints about returning to the higher layers. Tepepepe apparently went up once already, they just talked about a treasure that's on the 2nd floor that would be completely irrelevant otherwise, and all sorts of fucked shit is going on in town.
>>287305169No, no, no, listen, what if the pic isn't just a subtle flashback, but actually a Kirinia screaming somewhere in the nest?
>>287301287>evily mommy studying her nervous shota preyHOT
>>287304812Powerlifters don't train to punch. But a person who is fit and muscular will be able to punch and move faster than someone who isn't. This would be especially pronounced in Ozen's case because her increased strength doesn't directly correlate to increased mass. She does seem to be very dense and heavy, but not in proportion to how strong she is. What even makes you think that she would be "clumsy"? Or slower than Bondrewd? Why would a pure mass of muscle be slow and clumsy compared to a guy loaded down with relics?
>>287301287it's gotta be she thinks she's doing them a favor (maybe she really is)maybe the best shot those red whistles have at exploring the depths are as a soul bound to mrs. grim reaper.seems like prushka is about to tell us about it.
>>287305478in between Riko being へのへのもへじ
>>287304707I shouldn't even bother answering you but I haven't been on /a/ in months so I'm getting baited easily, so here goes:Reg's hair being red in this drawing is not "colour theory". Colour theory is about RELATIVE COLOUR. Please look it up on google before you start throwing around terms you know nothing about. Our eyes register a colour based on the colours around it in an image, which can lead to plenty of funny optical illusions, but the main point is that the viewer is still supposed to see the colour as the correct one (in this case, brown), until they use an eye-dropper and find out it's actually another colour.Alternatively, the luminosity values must remain intact, so the dark colours on the character in neutral lighting, must remain darker than the light colours, regardless of the lighting.Although light can illuminate dark hair, Reg in this art is rendered in rim lighting, which puts his frontal plane in the shade, so the front of his hair should STILL rendered in a darker tone. You might argue that the ambient lighting would colour it red, but then it would illuminate his skin and helmet too, which it doesn't. And even then, the only way to get dark hair illuminated to a reddish tone would be with direct sunlight, so again, it doesn't make sense. The red hair here does not look like anything except a vibrant red.The explanation that it's because of Tsukushi's colour blindness makes perfect sense.I looked it up, and deuteranopia makes people insensitive to the colour red and changes it to an (arguably) brown tone, so that's clearly what happened here.
>>287302200>red whistles probably deserved it
>>287299122>What rube would take up a fight at its asking price?>It's not like these were all from fights others started.>>287299143>Who would suddenly attack someone who offered their help?I don't like these translations. The meaning of it isn't clear. It just feels like a bad translation, someone trying to stick too close to the Japanese and failing perhaps.I guess she's saying if your going to fight, then you shouldn't just be fighting to survive (ie. the asking price), you should be fighting to also gain something. Then she's bragging or acknowledging that she's the aggressor some of the time? And then "Why would we attack someone helping us?" seems to be what it's saying for the third one?
>>287305629>I shiggy diggy doo
>>287305629tfw Reg is still a red whistle since he hasn't had a chance to rank up
>>287298705>srajo standing behind reg>>287298765>riko reaches into her pocket>>287298783>srajo is now right behind herSrajo at least knows Riko is hiding something but being this observant over a kid is weird
>>287305574And Tsukushi uses RGB values to help him. That's why I said the part about brown just being dark red. It would have been easy for him to tweak some numbers a little too far and go from brown to red. Although I personally really like his colorbind-isms. They're part of what gives his art that otherworldly, dreamlike quality.
>>287305646so you get it then, what is the issue
>>287305703Ah, so that's how he does it! That makes perfect sense, thanks for telling me.>I personally really like his colorbind-ismsYeah it's great, his soft rendering style paired with the somewhat unusual colours makes everything look kind of iridescent, I love it.
>>287305487>What even makes you think that she would be "clumsy"?The fact that she wears massive armor and is over 50. Bond’s body killing machine half made from relics, not just his guns. She might be relatively fast by ordinary standards, but she's nowhere near as fast as Reg, who moves like a bullet when buffed
Why riko is so unbothered about everything? there's someone that probably got rid of the half of the orphanage she was for years because her obsession with the abyss, no wonder she is qualified to be a white whistle, she is a fucking sociopath
>>287298600A storytime! Wow!
>>287305989Riko isn't a sociopath, she's a pragmatist. If there is any way to un-delete people, she doesn't know it. And both she and Srajo are stuck in the 7th layer, so neither of them can go back up to help or harm anyone. If it does no good to worry about something, she doesn't. It's that simple.
>>287305703What kind of colorblindess does he have I wonder? Im guessing red green color blindness
>>287305989しょうがないlol
>>287305989Why would she worry, Reg can do all her worrying for her.
>>287305989Let be honest Anon, there's anyone worth of saving in that orphanage? Riko never looked that attached to them compared to her true love for that murdering hole

>>287301287>killingWhat she does is worst than death, it is annihilation of the soul
>>287305989There's no need to worry about things she cannot change.
>>287299251>>287299201What's with the scuffed text? Did the scanlation get rushed?
>>287301287Killing who? I can't remember anything she did, you can't kill something that never existed
>>287306488lmao
>>287305337>they just talked about a treasure that's on the 2nd floor that would be completely irrelevant otherwiseHave you considered that it's only mentioned due to the implications it will have on future didcoveries by the gang?
>>287305574>Colour theory is about RELATIVE COLOUR. Please look it up on google before you start throwing around terms you know nothing aboutLMAO did you just Google the term and mindlessly paste it here, expecting this will refute your ignorance? Listen here, there’s no such thing as a “correct one” color, there’s only composition and how colors interact in a specific context. The fact that Tsukushi drew Reg in a cooler and more saturated palette than usual is not explained by his color blindness, it’s a fucking artistic choice, and even you would realize that if you looked at the second half of the cover art.It would cost Tsukushi nothing to make Reg in his natural colors, as he has done countless times before, color blindness has nothing to do with it. You’re like a child who has encountered a non-trivial color palette and, with your naive understanding of art, can’t grasp that the grass isn’t green and the sky isn’t blue. Not to mention utterly clueless understanding of lighting
>>287306579The irony of saying all of this about a cover where Tsukushi got Reg's arms wrong.
>>287306474It probably happens to everyone every 2000 years though

>>287306820"an paper where lies cannot be immutable letter" was intentional?and i'll stand by my last point - i get the effect trying to be reproduced, but the original text was distorted-but-still-legible. i had to manually stretch the translated images out to even make out any of the letters in the full-res version.just saying, this chapter really needed another day of quality control before everyone rushed to post it.
>>287306909The p is obviously silent, it's like when people say "an hour"
>>287306810>Unless this is intentional, both should be passkeyRiko curiously repeats the katakana sounds in hiragana before they're given a kanji.
>>287306909It's vocally they're saying "An Immutable Letter!" And the text above is the meaning we get from the kanji. And I'm not sure if I'd call the original text distorted but legible, I also had to manually stretch out the katakana to read it.

>>287299840Thanks for the dump.
>>287306579The warmth and coolness works just fine through color blindness. Making an intentional artistic choice you can't fucking see is a questionable gambit. Sure, maybe Reg is supposed to have red hair and highlights to contrast the cyan armor, with some green bits on his cloak and arm thrown in for good measure, or maybe the fact that it looks much less experimental through his own eyes is a hint as to his actual intention. Not sure why you're tripling down so hard.

>>287298683>>passkeeIs the reason it's translated like that because it's the loanword "pasuki" in japanese? And for the Japanese, that word solely has the technology meaning? And then there's no computers in this world, so the word would be unfamiliar? In English, passkey has a non-tech meaning, so the confusion is a bit weird. So it really should be something a bit more confusion-worthy like "authorization key" or "access key".
>>287307246I see, what a weird choice from Tsukushi
>>287299756Poor twins, they are such worried and they feel guilty.
>>287308574It is pasukii, but the distinction is that it's first said katakana, then Reg and Riko each repeat it in hiragana implying they are just parroting the sound without understanding, and then after remembering Riko says it with a kanji translation + furigana pasukii and so does Tepaste. I'm not sure if pasukii is something a native would recognize, but the kanji translation literally means "matching key" and normally means a duplicate key or a master key, not the original key, which I assume made the translator more hesitant to localize it into something more specific.
>>287308574Yes, the lean-word confusion is difficult to be shown in English.

Ozen might have been willing to train the kids but she did still fuck them up without mercy or hesitation. Bondrewd is so committed to science he sees no right or wrong. We know Lyza is/was a berserker butcher when the mood struck her. It's a given that every white whistle has some immense darkness around them which is probably what supported that drive to push into that ranking. So look at Srajo: her crew are entirely taboo mutants that the world would gladly purge at birth, at least one of them has "many souls layered together", Srajo can sense the "beast stone" within her crew and all of them seem to possess the ability to see souls, the twin snipers also destroy bodies by targeting what is likely the soul. No surprise Srajo herself has some way of presumably destroying the soul altogether and this ripples into others perceptions thanks to the effects of the abyss. It's a dark ability but fitting for a white whistle. Killing red whistles is obviously more fucked up than say Moon or black whistles, but I get the impression that Srajo will consider such an act a mercy and carrying the whistles of those she's killed is a form of atonement and recognition for their "sacrifice".

The only time we have Srajo act like a rogue is against aggressors like Bonerdude and the Sniper. >>287312833There's clearly more to them than that. People outside the abyss don't forget people the instant they die. It's not just a backup. It's some kind of shared consciousness.

Another way of looking at it is that the story is supposed to reveal the truth about travelling safely down to the bottom of the Abyss without dying from the curse, at least according to Srajo, but I don't know how to connect that to this so you will have to be the one to do so.

>>287313201>but I am still willing to give them the benefit of the doubtIt's not wrong to accept that Srajo is just as insane as any other white whistle, and that her crew are generally a decent group who won't target Riko in the future. Even Ozen's raiders and Bondrewd's Umbra hands (when they aren't on the job) all seem like well adjusted people. Minus Ozen's guys being obvious criminals picking pockets when they feel like it. I don't fully expect Srajo to turn on Riko and the rest unless there's a lot of friction when they fully encounter the Priestess' party which seems unlikely given Riko has no connections to them. The pendant with the similar shape to the nest though, that's going to come back up again. Also, if Wakuna turns out to be this Scholar it could also flare things up since he also penetrated the 6th layer after Srajo. But this chapter hammers home with the inclusion of red whistles that Srajo has no scruples killing children for her own goals. And her dialogue and personality all scream "pirate captain" (along with her crews name) so I just didn't find it all that crazy that the reality has been that Srajo has been farming delvers for XP with an unnamed relic with massive implications towards the soul discussion. >>287305226>>287305266Ozen can still get some action in the upper layer story line. And the fact that the Nest is in her territory might lead to her suddenly making her own final dive so I keep hope alive that we'll see her going all out at least once.
Also can't wait for Wakuna to ENTER the story.

A kid who was still a bell when Riko left could become the next Lyza in the time it takes Riko to meet the real one. Any of the surface characters can catch up if Tsukushi wants them to.
There's something about Faputa that consistently appeals to gay men
>>287313201This must be some misunderstanding. Probably she mercy killed all those delvers. Maybe if she'd have more time around Ido Front she could put the blobs in the miniature garden out of misery by removing their souls from the narehate bodies.

The pendant with the similar shape to the nest though, that's going to come back up again.I feel like that Pendant may be valuable enough for Srajo to present them with an ultimatum like hand it over or we fight for it. Right now, that seems like the most likely point of friction to me.Undernest is still hard to get a read on. Cravali seems like a bro and sided with them after learning about the Hariomari stuff. Tepaste was treated very poorly by the Undernation fanatics as a child yet still decided to join Undernest. The current day connection between Undernest and the more immediately reprehensible Undernation is still unclear. Srajo has clearly done some shit to warrant hostilities but that Sniper was extremely bloodthirsty to both Hail Hex and Reg which does damage to Undernest's image of being a "religion of peace." He's effectively drawn first blood as far as Riko Squad is concerned without being able to justify his sense of urgency at all and deepened their bond with Hail Hex as comrades in arms. It's very hard to predict where that point of friction will arise with what we know but as we learn more the intrigue intensifies.

>>287314992>If she wanted to mercy kill she could kill people the normal way not annihilate their entire existenceYeah chalking it up to mercy killing is extremely naive and way too generous. By carrying out this soul destruction she was basically erasing any evidence of the act of murder she is carrying out as well as any potential benefits she gets via the soul manipulation powers she may or may not have. It is within her own self interests to do this. Obviously though that plan was being unraveled by the existence of relics like the immutable phone book. She is a ruthless killer who goes a step beyond murder. But it's the motivations behind the killings that will have the greatest implications on her character.

>>287315276I think Srajo respects Hello Abyss too much to make the ultimatum even if they want it. And I think it'd be more Srajo convincing Riko to unlock the secrets of the pendant more than actually taking it away from her. Also Undernest might have a lot of bad people but the goal can still be good/right. Cravali and Tepaste have good reason to oppose them but chose to join after finding out the Calamitous Texts.
People who criticize Blobputa forgot Nanachi did not tell anything about her. So in front of Hail Hex Faputa plays a role.
>>287315745It's important to remember that we have been given the names of two different entities aligned with the Miko. Undernation, who are the fanatics and Undernest who seem more moderate. Undernation still seems to be operating based on the fact we saw the now-nuggified woman from Tepaste's chapter in Ozen's last appearance. As for the amount of time the TL takes corrections, I obviously can't spend all my time continuosly updating it, there's obviously the people who want to read it quickly, and I don't think anons will actually ever fully agree on everything so the more time passes the more the suggestions get tangled together and I have to pick something from all the twisted arguments people are having. So I try to have 2 days for the doc and 2 rounds of dumps before uploading.I think if we just added more rounds of dumps, people would get exhausted of just dumping and no uploading, and I would start to get confused by all the mixed signals from different suggestions that kind of contradict each other.

>>287299101I like how Srajo is aura farming to maximum her not-fuck-giving attitude. A huge dark secret was revealed about Hail Hex team but she goes "yeah sure whatever" and to drive the point home she doubles down on full transparency by offering on the spot to remove her clothes and show them her cool scars. There is a really subtle horror atmosphere in this whole scene, considering that Srajo is doing crimes that involve mass mental manipulation to make everyone forget about them, and it requires a special relic just to be able to write down what she does, but she is completely uncaring about admitting them. Very strange contrast that I haven't seen anywhere else. She even wears the whistles of everyone she's killed, she has been shoving in everyone's face the evidence of her untraceable crimes, she's a walking paradox. She is finally earning her moniker of lord of mystery except the mystery is why she's behaving so completely un-mysterious. Zero hiding, zero denying, full spooky honesty.

Zero hiding, zero denying, full spooky honesty. She is hiding in plain sight. She doesn't deny but she doesn't reveal either. >>287318013She *is* honest and frank, neither of these things compel her to talk about certain things, she must be asked stuff, but the protagonists are terrified of asking. They are paralyzed in conversation because Srajo's behavior points toward two extremes, either she doesn't hide because she is that much of a definite ally or it's because she is that much uncaring about killing them for knowing too much.
>>287316967On the TS side I'm always looking to improve and accomodate the suggestions from people here first and foremost so people should speak up when they see errors or subpar workmanship. My other goal is to try to balance that with matching what our predecessors did when /a/byss scans first started. This place is the birthplace of this fanbase outside of Japan and I have some reverence for that and how it has shaped things. I think the other contributors also feel that. But we do it for free, there are only a few of us and we only have so much time before things have to move along. Thursday - Sunday tends to be a really convenient time to try to get all the work done for us. We know the chapters always release at the same time and we usually have a rough idea of when a chapter release is on the horizon so if people really want to make sure the chapters get posted with no mistakes they could show up to help proofread prior to Monday morning. But I also know some people don't want to read it before a TS is done and I get it. It can lose a lot of impact if you read it in WIP form.I wouldn't consider this a shitstorm. It's really not a big deal because when TLanon can spare a minute mistakes can be fixed if they are pointed out. People here can be crass and rude, always have been and always will be but genuine criticism and highlighting of mistakes worth fixing is appreciated regardless.

>>287305817Anon... you really need that explained to you?Translations should convey the meaning of the wording, not the literal wording. Direct translations leads to broken English, simply rearranging the verb noun and object structure is often not enough, since stuff like idioms and turns of phrases do not carry over. You need to decipher what information is being relayed and use the most appropriate English substitute. If you don't, you get dialogue like this, words that would not be uttered by any English speaker. TL;DR you should not have to decipher words when they are not meant to be cryptic in the first place. She is not trying to be vague or cryptic, she is upfront, blunt and honest. the translation should reflect that.
>>287317209It's healthy to acknowledge one's ability frankly without over- or underrating oneself (and yeah, I do also often get the feeling some lines could have been worded a bit better), but I think it's also good to acknowledge exactly what is being translated here: a serially released story that has a big focus on mystery, and constantly confronting the unknown and undiscovered (or otherwise introducing things the *characters* know of but the reader as an outsider to the fictional world doesn't). I can only imagine how difficult it can be to discern any meaning from character dialogue in certain chapters when we barely have an idea of what's even really happening, or how certain characters think or speak in general. It should be considered a miracle for ANY translator that has no line of communication to the original writer to not end up with serious mistranslations/misinterpretations along the way that have to be corrected later in a work like this.
>>287318557
>>287318557>Translations should convey the meaning of the wordingThe original wording was playful and idiomatic, Srajo was expanding on a common play on a phrase that literally means "To sell a fight" for when someone picks a fight with you, the translation tries to keep some of that while also making it more clear that she's speaking in a creative way. What you're arguing for is a different thing, if for example we took the english phrase "Making one's blood boil" for being angry in a sentence like "When someone makes my blood boil I ice it before I'll have to ice them" Translating it literally in a broken way would be "When my blood is going to evaporate I cool it down before I freeze someone." which of course doesn't work.Translating it JUST to give you the information would instead result in "When someone makes me angry I calm myself down before I end up killing them." which completely murders the playfulness of the original wording, which I hope you understand would just be a poor translation.
>>287318520If they stop loving you do the words vanish? Maybe it depends on exact wording?>I currently love you>I will always love youWould the "always" version vanish when it stops being true? >>287318708The correct way would be to use a similar English phrase, it might not convey Srajo's way of speaking to simply use "pick a fight" but it conveys the correct information and intention. I'm not about to argue that "pick a fight" is what should be used, or that there isn't a better phrase to use, but a translators job should be to convey the information in a digestible way to the reader, since half of the readers will be rocking less than triple digits and will seriously struggle if the translator is a bit too autistic about retaining melody or tone in their translations. If you can figure out a way to do it, great, if not, chose clarity.

>>287318936>If you can figure out a way to do it, great, if not, chose clarity.I can agree to that. I would still prefer to be able to keep the tone of the original japanese, but if not possible then I suppose sometimes its better to sacrifice it for clarity.
The immutable paper notes were most likely created as a failsafe mechanism, a quick note to protect against abyss-powered mass reality manipulation events that modify memory, and that's pretty spooky in itself. The paper doesn't just reject existential gaslighting, it reverses its effect since reading the name on the paper restored memories of the deleted people. Imagine carrying that paper in your pocket and being like>ah wait, let me do a quick check if I'm under universal gaslighting effect, let's see... Oh crap they tried to delete my mom from existence, not cool! The heart shape suggest it was made specifically to remember loved ones. Wew.
>>287318785But that would be gay
Yeah to give my two cents, I have no idea what the fuck Srajo was saying in a few of those lines because I have never heard anybody speak like that in real life. But as I have no knowledge of Japanese and no better suggestion, I didn't make it.But when it is very important information for being able to make a judgement on her character and motivations it is probably be better that the meaning of her words were made clear.

It seems everyone is interpreting immutable letter as a fact checker. I've been hung up on the word "lie" and trying to see it as allowing you to write what you believe to be true. But I'm not sure how to connect that to the memory restoration ability. If it were a memory transfer, i.e. it brought the writer's perspective into your mind (and maybe resonated with your own lost memories and brought them back too), that angle would make more sense.I suppose we don't know that the memories he thinks were restored were actually his? Maybe I'm just stuck on the fact that the relic is "used" through writing on it, which seems like it should rely on the writer more.
>>287318709remember what Majikaja said about lies becoming true and signals of the soul once a person believes it? that is what you can write on it, what you believe from the bottom of your soul is what you're able to write on it. If this changes later I don't think the letter will "mutate" fufufu

>>287319459It's a relic shrouded in secrets like all the others so it's not like anyone can determine for sure it's a fact checker device, but, at the very least it contains fact-checking value since it defies reality warping. Being called immutable, and a resistance relic, both seems to imply that its core value comes from truths not being changed to lies. The memory restoration aspect is the most mind-boggling part I'd say. I don't think it's memory transfer, it just "reminds" or "convinces" the user to stop self-brainwashing.

But the fourth panel here >>287299122 and the subsequent panel on the next page are still weird to me. I understand what she's saying. But the way it's worded sounds like she's justifying her actions but what she's actually saying is that she is the one that contrived a reason to kill even people who weren't attacking her. Like defensive gloating or something.
>>287319987Fuck off, Gake.
Srajo's memory-altering gimmick offers some really interesting potential to fuck with the reader's mind. What if Srajo reveals that there used to be an additional member of Riko's party, that she had left Orth with Reg + another kid from the orphanage, but they got fatally wounded recently (because this layer is super deadly) and without any actual hope of recovery, unlike Nanachi, and thus they asked themselves to be deleted when Srajo offered it, to not cause a mental burden with their death. Yes, forced drama, but I just want to consider the funny implication, which would be that Srajo retroactively altered the manga and deleted that character from OUR memory. Instead of us seeing the character vanish one chapter and the protagonist pretend it didn't happen, we were affected too, and it was like the character never existed, since the manga is not drawn on immutable paper after all. I just like how weirdly meta this shit can get.Ignoring this kind of ultra specific meta-fuckery, Srajo did delete people from Riko's home orphanage, so there is a reasonably decent change that Srajo is displaying in Riko's face the whistle of someone that Riko met at least once but forgot. Shit's already getting spooky in story implications. If Srajo pointed their whistle and said who they are, would Riko remember them now, or does only immutable paper recovers memory? So many weird questions.
>>287320642I've thought about the meta thing. It would be tricky to pull off well. By necessity, it would be a character we've never seen and therefore have no reason to care about. And it would involve essentially retconning the entire manga. >Srajo is displaying in Riko's face the whistle of someone that Riko metAll but guaranteed. She would have known everyone at Belchero and had lived there for 10 years. Srajo doesn't look super old so if she did kill people from Belchero it almost had to overlap with Riko being there and meeting them.
Do you have any idea how many secrets have been revealed by the smell of Tepaste's pits? Her pits just completely changed the course of the work as a whole. Her sweaty armpits contained secrets that we've spent years theorizing. The question is: what secrets is she hiding in other parts of her body?WITH THIS, I volunteer to smell and catalog every inch of her body for study. That's what I had to talk about this chapter, until 2027!Thank you.
>>287320049Damn. Good memory.
>>287320049It's obvious that Srajo removed someone very important to Riko. Otherwise, it would be pointless to talk about Belchero.
>>287320818Riko really stuck her nose in the wrong hole, imagine how much more information we could have.
>>287320787Yes, I like the idea all by itself but I don't actually think it would be a good idea for the author to go for it. Way too risky. If that forgotten character travelled with Hello Abyss then they would necessarily need to be important but just like you say we would have no reason to care about them. It would probably be better to explore this gimmick concept in a short story rather than retroactively altering so much a long ongoing story. Just an interesting thought experiment.

The kids are a novelty to her but she was going to make this dive without them in full confidence so as I see it, the only reason the kids are safe is because Srajo isn't bloodthirsty and they managed to pass her "test". Sure, she committed important resources to helping retrieve Nanachi and even helping Reg but it's entirely likely she can and will turn on a dime the moment mutual interest is no longer possible. >>287320049I don't think even on a re-read I would have made this connection. >>287321299The existential gaslighting + anti-existential gaslighting relics are SSS+ tier ultra important combo. >>287321618>Did you not trust her?She was the first WW we'd seen in the story and had just stomped a mudhole into Reg so I was a bit leery on the accuracy of her words. Beyond that, there's the factor of the Beast Stone within each of them which cold be an avenue for Srajo to assume control should they not willingly submit to her judgement.

The subterranean bandits are a bunch of indolent drunks just like their boss. Riko's crew are random creatures she collected in her travels who go along with what she says because they like and agree with her. And she is a good cook. And in this very chapter Frapam is risking his life for a member of another crew without orders simply because he thinks it's the right thing to do. And Menae partially divulged secrets to Reg just because he likes him and thinks he's cool.I don't see any of these people following orders that strongly conflict with their moral convictions. And I don't think the beast stones would give Srajo control over her juusou.
>>287322188
>>287322256I just think you are forgetting that whatever Srajo is doing, her crew is FULLY aware of it and on board. Whether it's tricking people into having their souls obliterated or doing the same to perceived enemies. This isn't a secret to them and they definitely help. Like I said, the coffin is likely holding the relic for this process and who is the one actually shown carrying it around? I don't 100% expect Srajo or her crew to turn on Riko, but I do think you underestimate how a hardened crew of delvers will act when their objective is in front of them. If Bonedaddy's crew are willing to subject themselves to total personality death on the off chance their boss needs their body, why are you underestimating another white whistle crew's devotion and dedication?

>>287322359>If Bonedaddy's crew are willing to subject themselves to total personality deathThe ones who weren't were killed. The umbra hands' obedience is definitely the exception and not the norm. Delvers in general are a surly bunch who don't take shit off anyone. The fact that white whistles keeping special grade relics is officially prohibited but obviously totally intended and not punished is a good example of Orth's cultural attitude towards authority. You follow orders when they make sense. But when they're stupid, you don't.Yes, Hail Hex obviously help with the deletions. Nisha is the test and she played her part against Reg. But that was before they got to know Hello Abyss and became indebted to them. Although, I don't think Yata or the twins would have been super enthusiastic about killing the red whistles. There was most likely a justification for that that made them feel like they had no choice. The most obvious reason being that they are juusou and if word got out about them they'd likely be hunted down. So it was probably a "Sorry, kid. You know too much." sort of thing. But that's not a factor for Hello Abyss since they two have furries and a robot themselves and are too deep to report Hail Hex anyway.
>>287322741>The ones who weren't were killedEvery non lobotomized Umbra hands (not the bounty hunters he forced into it) willingly chose to undergo the test is the point. Their loyalty is fanatical sure, but that doesn't make them exceptional in the context of white whistle crews. Ozen's cave raiders are also loyal to her even if they are the most "delver-like" of the cave raiding groups. Even when they showed up after Reg got stomped they didn't really stop Ozen from doing what she intended, at best they reigned her in because by her own words "she really got into it". >There was most likely a justification for that that made them feel like they had no choice. In that case just killing a disposing of a kid should have been easy no? Total identity erasure is extreme when nobody would really bat an eye at some red whistle going missing compared to more important delvers. If Srajo has convinced everyone that destroying the souls of red whistles was for the greater good, why are you pretending this couldn't apply to Hello Abyss just because of current pleasantries? The story is inching towards the greatest depth within the abyss, everyone here is willing to bet their lives on finishing the descent and being kind to strangers you met a day ago is not going to get them across the finish line. For many reasons, I think you should be open to the idea that Srajo and Hail Hex would be willing to turn on Riko and Hello Abyss if circumstances change. Vice versa applies as well.

Not just the failed ones. They were defeated and had a choice, join or die. So there is very strong selection bias in the disposition of umbra hands.>Total identity erasure is extremeIt is, but it's also not that hard to justify if you're already killing a person. It is very easy to make the argument that erasing them is a mercy. Even for kids. Especially for kids. You'd be sparing their family and friends either the lifetime of uncertainty or the grief of finding them dead. And you can add on to that the need to hide evidence. We don't know the exact mortality rates of delvers or all of their protocols for missing persons. But we do know they specifically don't send search parties after red whistles in the 2nd layer or deeper because it's considered a suicide. Which implies they do send search parties for higher ranked delvers. Depending on how many people they were killing, not erasing memories could have left too much of a trail leading back to Hail Hex.>being kind to strangers you met a day ago is not going to get them across the finish lineTwo of Hail Hex's members, seemingly among the most powerful, are only alive because of mutual kindness. I think people have a misplaced assumption of brutality towards delver society. Likely from a combination of Belchero's greed, Ozen's tough love, and Bondrewd's amorality. But we just saw Pieruzo sacrifice himself for a random girl he just met for no gain whatsoever. It's the abyss that is brutal. Which does demand toughness from its denizens, but also cooperation. Is it possible Hail Hex will turn on Hello Abyss? Sure. But I don't think it's very likely and would require some extreme circumstances. And Hello Abyss turning on Hail Hex isn't happening. Riko has never shown any sign that she'd be willing to do that.

Blue, moon, and black whistles would necessitate a different reaction and might justify her methods. But what could some punk kid that just got past the bell phase really do to threaten them or otherwise inconvenience Srajo to the point that erasing them is a necessity? >I think people have a misplaced assumption of brutality towards delver society.I've made it clear that the issue here is that we're dealing with the direct subordinates of a white whistle's crew at the precipice of the final layer of the abyss. Said crew is also in hot pursuit of a specific objective that the MC's crew has a puzzle piece for in her literal pocket. I also don't pretend that delver crews aren't going to be ruthless when it counts because that's what we've seen. Just noting that delver groups aren't always as they appear and that self interest is a big part of survival in these crews is not grimderp. Just saying, brace yourself for Srajo, Riko, or both to have to look out for their own when the time comes.
I'm watching the Made in Abyss anime because I always saw people recommending it and extolling it to high heavens.Wow, what a boring anime. How overrated. Why do people like it so much? It's not bad, but it isn't particularly good or entertaining either.I also saw a bunch of people seething infinitely because supposedly it was full of rape and pedophilia.Where the fuck is it? So far I've only seen the FMC loli without a shirt twice, once when the giant birds kidnap her and once when she takes a bath, both scenes only lasting a couple of seconds. Is that all? Pedophilia is when children exist, apparently. The mere existence of children makes these faggots seethe. How ridiculous.Overrated piece of shit. I'll watch till the end since I'm already on episode 9, but what a waste of time.
>>287324851>FMC loli's father, the one her mother chose to breed with, was a shotaThat was funny. I liked that little detail.
>>287324255>What would a kid know about this in the first place?"Hey, I saw big fat cat lady." They clearly do try to hide what they are. The nuggers' full outfit completely covers them from head to toe. But they have to eat and bathe and shit and it doesn't look like Nisha has a disguise. So it's still plenty possible for someone to stumble upon them and start a rumor.>A test that They do it anyway. Argue with Tsukushi, not me. She even specifically brings up the test after Reg mentions the red whistles.>Tepaste is still a prisonerWho they have treated extremely well.>they still killed CravagliNo they didn't. They might have been the ones who inflicted his injuries. Or he could have gotten injured escaping them. Either way, he died from exposure. And, in any case, they are working for the miko who is, as far as we know, a declared enemy of Orth. Fighting them is Srajo doing her actual job as a white whistle. Hail Hex fighting enemy combatants in no way indicates that they'd turn on Hello Abyss.>working against BelafWhat? She was about to make a deal with him, Majikaja stopped her, and then the village got attacked, during which time Belaf released Nanachi on his own. Riko never plotted against him at all.>brace yourself for Srajo, Riko, or both to have to look out for their own when the time comesAnd you brace yourself for them cooperating and maybe even some more self sacrifices.
>>287324851>I'm already on episode 9lol. lmao.
>>287324851>since I'm already on episode 9,Would have been more believable if you'd said 6 or something, but this is too on the nose.
>>287324920>>287325064What? Was I supposed to change my mind between episode 6 and episode 9?The last few episodes I played them in the background with picture-in-picture precisely because I was getting bored.
>>287325123Switching to zoom zoom bait is a good pivot though
>>287325201>>287324920So what do you guys like about it? Why do people praise it so much?
Can you guys give me spoilers? Why do people transform into monsters if they try leaving the abyss too fast? Were the abyss and the curse artificially created? Are there intelligent beings at the bottom of the abyss? What happens after season 1? I won't be watching the other seasons and movies.
