This was such a unique manga. Actually an underdog protagonist, hilarious gags despite being repetitive, a supporting cast that wasn't totally abandoned, everything about Niijim. Also, Kisara is cute and I wish we got to see her more in the later arcs.

I think the only Shinpaku alliance member who I would like to have seen get significantly more attention is Kisara, because she's fairly important in Ragnarok and later in the tournament but her relevance craters afterwards.

Siegfried, Tanimoto, Kisara, Freya, Thor and Berserker don't get any fight that focuses on them for more than one chapter, Renka gets one but it's very short and is then pushed to the side, Tanaka meanwhile gets three multi chapter fights. The amusement park is the most blatant example where there are several pairs prepared but only two fights are shown, the others are done off screen or have no absolutely no stakes.

That actually ended up skipping Kenichi's own fight too which is baffling.But you need to think about the manga as a whole; Freya gets a focus fight at the tournament. She doesn't need constant focus fights. Sieg gets a huge moment at the tournament when he comes down on the plane, Ukita when he throws that guy out and then breaks a finger, and Kisara when she imitates a cat. Tanimoto is the pointman for the Fortuna fight. Takada is kind of the outlier in that he gets an actual proper fight to himself with Lugh. They are side characters, they're not so major that they need multi-chapter fights but they're major enough that they get to come to the group battles and beat mooks and get comedy scenes in the SOL stuff. I actually prefer how Kenichi does it to most other series because it doesn't pretend that they need a ton of focus time but still cares enough to include them and they do get *something* to do even if it's minor. I think ironically that Renka is the one who disrupts the rhythm here, because she actually gets a lot of focus post-Ragnarok including a constant rivalry with a Yomi member despite not really being a proper Shinpaku Alliance member.

Considering that Tanimoto does get a pseudo-Yomi fight against that Clear Dragon guy who used the same style as him, I think just one more Yomi win for SA would have made them feel a bit less neglected.
