Galaxy Angel is now 25 years oldMint is still best girl.
>>287302247>MintDamn right.
Personally, I'm a fan of Ranpha.
>>287302247So will they ever properly adapt the game into anime?
>>287302804I'm going to guess it's unlikely, series has been almost totally dead for a long time now outside of a Mint figure back in 2019 and a gacha crossover awhile before that.
>>287302755Replaying the games recently, I really came around on Ranpha, she has so much chaotic energy(even if she kept rushing an entire fleet herself the second I stopped paying attention)
>>287302247Man reading the manga and watching the anime was a wild disconnect. Forte is still my girl in both versions though
>>287302247I loved the Newgrounds game as a teen.
>>287302247Angel Ukki > Mammoth Smile > Galaxy Bang Bang > Angel Rock & Roll
>>287304165Galaxy Bang Bang will always be the best to me, but I acknowledge its nostalgia talking
>>287306483cute dog
>>287303329Cute! Never seen this promo art for the anime... Are there any promo arts that depict Ranpha wearing different hairstyles?
>>287302247Damn, someone else made a GA thread that wasn't me?
>>287303846The manga is just a condensed and slightly bastardized version of the games. I think it's easily the weakest medium among the three.
>>287303329Ranpha is fucking great but her route drama leave a lot to be desired. At least Mint's gimmick made for some funny moments.
>>287308767Did censorship on anime exist during Abe's term? Wonder if max heart's cure black's midriff being covered count as censorship.
>>287308564That's good to know.
>>287308353There's some stuff! The artist for the games did a bunch of artbooks of the entire cast>>287309491To my understanding, GA moved timeslots and channels after the first season, and because it was being positioned in a more kid friendly spot Forte and Ranpha ended up having their outfits censored
>>287302247Sad that it doesn't seem to be getting a new anniversary series like Di Gi Charat did.
>>287310613I was asking about anime promo art since they can quite often be a little obscure, especially from that era where they were just printed randomly in magazines and whatnot. If you have a link to those artbooks though, they'd still be nice to see!Either way I just wanna see official art of Ranpha with different hairstyles...!
>>287311083Not quite as much anime Ranpha promotional stuff that doesn't have her without her regular hairstyle, seems like they more preferred just changing her outfitAnywayGalaxy Angel Complete Book:https://e-hentai.org/g/3120702/f39fead74d/Angels: Kanan's Works:https://e-hentai.org/g/1062510/c712c90e66/Colorful Kanan:https://e-hentai.org/g/111513/21c3d7d02b/There's a couple others around too, I can't find uploads of Angels 2 and 3 anymore for some reason
>>287311630I don't think anyone's uploaded Angels 2 and 3.I went and bought them physically.
>>287313103Super cute
>>287302247>all we get is a half finished drawingSUGOI!
>>287313307I should probably hunt down a copy of Angels 3, its the only one I'm still missing physically.I could swear I remember seeing scans of Angels 2 at least, but its also been a hot minute, I could just be misremembering now
>>287308564The main plot does feel watered down compared to the games but I like the little extra world building exclusive to the manga.Plus Kanan's artstyle is adorable.
why galaxy angel fags on 4chan are always the creepy lolicons who obsessed over the shitty dating sim/strategy game and never people who like the anime
>>287314915Harvester looking a bit different than I remember
>>287314638It's a bit of a tough sell to convince people to play/read a VN series from the early 2000s or watch a 5-season anime to boot.
>>287315546I wish more anime had a game tie-in that weren't low effort cash grabs
>>287315651GA is a special case that turned out into a fantastic scenario. The anime was supposed to be a straight adaptation but then delays with the game forced the anime to become its own thing, and many would consider the changes were made for the better.
>>287314530Yeah, I won't like that seeing more of the Elsior's interior and daily lives was neat but I don't know, something felt really "self assured" about the whole pacing and atmosphere. Everyone kept making the same "looking far off into the distance with a smile face" that seemed so strange in the manga, like it felt it was being deep without any reason to be.
>>287313516Angels 3 is weird because half of it is new illustrations while the other half is the "best hits" of Angels 1 and 2.
>>287315750Interesting, I wonder if Kanan was getting a bit burnt out by that point, or maybe depending on when it came out it was just a matter of getting it done while GA was still relevant
>>287313383Kanan rarely bothers to fully render her illustrations these days. The IP seems so inactive that she's literally allowed to just draw for auctions and sell art of the characters for events and stuff.
>>287315847I forget when Angels 3 was release but the final game in the franchise came out in 2009 and I don't remember it ending with much fanfare and if they had any farewell concerts or something around those lines.
>>287316402There's a combination of reasons for that I imagine, GA2 had an uphill battle between the games going over to being PS2 Exclusive late in the systems life with a storyline that's a bit of a hard sell, Galaxy Angel Rune being pretty rough and not selling, and in my opinion they really did the GA1 girls dirty which makes it harder to like the at the time new cast. So I imagine when the second trilogy ended, BROCCOLI was ready to wipe their hands of it allThe duet CDs are pretty good though!
>>287316587I'm not sure if there was that much bad will when every GA2 game had a lot of content in them, at least I didn't get the feeling Broccoli was ready and willing to get it over with quickly because Mugen Kairo and Eigou Kaiki were fucking long games. There's definitely some confirmation bias here but most people I see playing through the games nowadays seem to enjoy the whole experience, although barely any of them will actually be doing every heroine's route which is a bit of a shame. I can fully agree the Rune anime soured the entire experience and definitely didn't help things but I also enjoyed the games overall. I frankly prefer some of the routes in II over the original trilogy.
>>287316587IIRC the duet CDs came out relatively early in the GA2 years. Early enough for when Natsume didn't "exist" and Kazuya was paired with Chitose as "the 6th person who joined last".
>>287316848Oh I'm not saying the games themselves suffered for it in terms of care, I'm more saying that after the third was finished they were probably also just done with the series as a whole too. Especially considering BROCCOLI was a total disaster by 2009 between pulling out of the US and I think they were already starting to close some of their JP stores by that point or would be soon after?I'm probably a bit biased against GA2, I totally get why people would like the new cast (I think Anise is really cool!) and the games seem a lot cleaner than the original trilogy visually. I'm just not a fan of how they sidelined the older cast, and wasn't too big on how some arcs played out after the original trilogy (Mint going back to work for her Dads company when that goes against such a huge part of her character arc immediately comes to mind)
>>287317206I wouldn't say the GAII games are narratively more compelling but it definitely had more budget throw into it.I will contest that point about the GA1 cast be sidelined because they still play huge side roles and they take up a decent chunk of the first and third games while the second game is the one where they're the least prevalent in. For better or for worse GA2 answered a lot of questions over heroine backstories and had the benefit of just being in longer games to have constant interactions with each other, something that the original trilogy had less of once you entered into a route and I think the original trilogy gets an understandably enormous if slightly unwarranted boost from the anime's interactions being combined with the games' despite being separate continuities. Anise in particular has a completely explained backstory and has one of the better character arcs while the tsundere-ness kind of lessens the impact of a strict character "development" but I guess going from an enemy to a friend so early is development enough. As far as Mint is concerned, yeah going against her father's wishes as being an heiress is one thing but I more or less took it as her coming back to the job on her own instead of being forced to. I guess GA1 didn't explore much of Mint's aspirations beyond freedom. On the other end, this lled to an incredibly easy story shoe-in as a goods supplier to expand the universe.
Where's the fucking HD rerelease, Broccoli
>>287318487Broccoli is basically dead bro
>>287319263I thought Utapri was printing money for them
