It isn't. Hollywood's film/TV ecosystem generates far more in total revenue when including global streaming, TV, home video, and ancillary. Individual blockbusters or franchises often outpace single anime titles. Anime is only 6% of global streaming revenue. It's still a niche, One Piece just so happens to be an outlier alongside Dragon Ball Z and Naruto.
