>>287335753Other options include small/local cons, going to the anime club and asking people what they like as a way of ruling out the shounentards or just being honest with people you meet about your interests. That's how I met most of my friends who're into anime. If someone asks what your interests are, just throw anime in with a few others.
Discord and reddit, no real anime fans go outside anymore.

But they were just childish normalfags (even though they were my age) who watched mainstream anime and only made superficial conversation.I felt out of place with them. I never saw them again.
