I really like some of the ideas this series has, the future diary concept is genuinely pretty interesting and is sometimes used in very fun ways, but I find the core duo too uninteresting for how unlikeable they are. Definitely a series where the side characters carry imo

Without her it's just Yukki crying in increasingly creative locations for 26 episodes.They're not "unlikeable," they're a trainwreck you can't look away from. That's the point. The dynamic is toxic, obsessive, codependent garbage and it's entertaining as hell because of it. If they were well-adjusted and charming the whole survival game angle would've been mid-tier death game slop.You don't watch Mirai Nikki for morally upright characters. You watch it to see a pink-haired yandere commit felonies in the name of love while a god laughs in the background. Put some respect on the chaos.
