This was unironically dumb - the MC decided to leave the aunt's house because she is kinda mean towards him??? Also, besides the bombing that was shown in the opening scene the rest of the movie is relatively peaceful, so they decide not to live in that peaceful village and live in some cave near the river. After that, when his sister gets sick he tries to steal some food for her from the farmer but noooo LE EVIL farmer is not going to give a boy and his starving sister some food, because he is an asshole, I guess. Same goes for the doctor that checks on the little sister - the child is visibly unwell and without parents and he just doesn't give a shit.
