I'm extremely late to the party and I want to rant and copeI finished binging this a some days ago and feel drained. Admittedly I went in with biased expectations because I picked it up after seeing the ending shitstorm, but after finishing part 1, part 2 felt like some kind of a nightmare. It was alright at the start even if it felt "off" somehow, but everything just completely fell apart as it went. I could tell the pacing was bad even while binging it, the constant fake cliffhanger spam was absurd, Denji was a complete schizo compared to where he was at the end of part 1, and there were so many times the story and characters stopped making sense. I was left speechless by the part in the cafe where Yoru says she doesn't want to kill a bunch of people because it will hurt Asa and then in the very next chapter she goes on a random killing spree just for the epic lulz, probably the best example of the characters and plot just doing whatever Fujimoto feels like at the moment.In the earlier parts of part 2 I actually really liked Asa and Yoru, the urban fantasy/horror/dark comedy romcom antics were pretty good, and even Denji's unhinged behavior was fun when it was played for laughs or him being a based retard in battle. But the longer the manga went on the more Yoru just steamrolled Asa, Denji's retardition became basically the engine driving the entire main plot and Asa and Yoru didn't even get proper closure before the entire timeline gets blown the fuck up.By the end my brain was coping by imagining scenes and character arcs that would've been better than the part 2 that actually happened. Even if you said he was supposed to secretly be a cruel devil just watching Denji TV I still don't believe it, Black Chainsaw Man was the ungaest bunga in hell and not a master emotional manipulator.But then it's not even consistent because he's back to being best friends for life when he appears in the Aging Devil arc.
