All these isekai/narou anime are getting on my nerves. It's about time we bring back the urban fantasy battle harems. From now on, this is my thread!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvABTLA-QdwWhich blood would you strike and why is it Sayaka?
No Senpai, this is our thread.
As to why Sayaka is my favorite, it's simply because she's a tsundere done right, she's tsun in the beginning and then becomes dere. Also, her character design is erotic. That pony tail is criminally erotic. I'd love to put my fangs into her, if you know what I mean.
>>287350237Too late. Isekai already absorbed all the urban fantasy stuff. Remember modern world magic highschool stuff? Well you now get isekai/fantasy The Academy™ instead. It was all just moved over to a different setting.
>>287350237For me it's La FoliaShe knows the score
>>287350237I'm sorry but you might get what you want but it's monkey paw'd as fuck and will all be huntershit format with live streaming.
>>287350504It's not quite the same though, urban fantasy works because it is set in a contemporary city in an industrialized setting that has stuff like computers, the internet, modern weaponry, etc.You do have some isekai series where the protagonist invents guns with magic properties but that is totally different from something like Strike the Blood which has anti-demon bullets and rifles for the common soldiers as a core component for its setting. The isekai/fantasy academy is lame anyways. Watching Koujo's school life is fun because he tries to hide his vampire status desperately and it actively works against him because it makes him nocturnal.Watching Touma in To Aru's school life is funny because he's a Level 0 without special ability who gets shat on all the time.Contrast that with the isekai/fantasy school life of the main character being the strongest because he has been reincarnated/summoned/whatever, it's simply boring and done to death.Coming up with clever ways of making the main character overpowered which does not benefit him at all in his daily life is something often overlooked, I feel.>>287350515Threesomes with the princesses.
>>287350237Iee Senpai, this is our thread !
>>287350237IIE SENPAI
>>287350591Adding to this, even the original isekai school life Zero no Tsukaima had Saito be useless most of the time, his ability to wield any weapon didn't help him most of the time. The original isekai novel was still alright. It only got bad when everyone decided to publish webnovel slop and the elevens bought into it, forever lowering the standard.I guess we can blame Sword Art Online for being the first webnovel that was republished as a light novel. It was the first, right?Light novels have never been high literature or something, but there was at least some effort put into it. Nowadays it's just mass produced garbage an LLM could write. I bet in the future people will suspect them of being AI slop, honestly. I predict people are going to be surprised that these webnovels predate the advent of LLM/AI slop by a few years.
>>287350237I like when battle harems have bro characters too. Does this one?
>>287350677i think there is one guy, but yeah bros are great in those setting even +18 stuff have some like shin maou
>>287350677Well, StB has this guy, who's the male bro character in this anime. He even has a girlfriend.Narou could never.
>>287350713narou does have novels with them its just that publishers pick the most cookie cutter bullshit from there
If we're going to be honest, this is the zenith of the genre, and the reason that battle harem was supplanted immediately by isekai after it aired is that simply nothing else could compete
>>287350770What came after it? Asterisk War and Rakudai Kishi airing in the same season and being the exact same first episode.Little did we know how good we had it back then, as it was the last time we had anything of this genre. People made fun of these two for being the same anime airing in the same season and now we have the same villainess slop each season, the same "I got reincarnated as X with Y as my gimmick", the same "slow life" the same shit each and every season.
>>287350702>>287350713Thanks frens
Strike the Sayaka
>>287350237La Folia
>>287350713Isnt he secretly an asshole NTR guy?
>urban fantasymillennial cucks with boring white collar jobs and artisan lattes who substitute escapism for hobbies, come watch my show
>>287350237>All these isekai/narou anime are getting on my nerves.>It's about time we bring back the urban fantasy battle harems.I agree, but the one you posted is shit.
>>287351127You are wrong, millenial cucks are now salarymen who dream of being hit by a truck and transported into another world.
>>287351181As skeptical as I normally am about anyone who implies that isekai is a fundamentally inferior genre to fucking battle harems, when they go on to say that the one that does manage to stand above the mean isekai is shit and they hate it, I can only say that you deserve less than what you already have
>>287351252Yes, millennials have moved on from trash magical high school battle harems to escapist isekai fantasy, and you're a lewronggeneration faggot when other zoomers prefer romcoms about exotic female archetypes that have been extinct for twenty years
>>287351010
>>287350591>It's not quite the same though, urban fantasy works because it is set in a contemporary city in an industrialized setting that has stuff like computers, the internet, modern weaponry, etc.Magic highschool already replaced urban fantasy even before isekai appeared. Urban fantasy had already phased out on its own by then, at least as far as seeing new ones pop up. The old ones often still persisted, e.g. Strike the Blood or even more notably Date-A-Live.
>>287350628>>287350634At least attach an image to your post. It's kinda sad how the voice actress of Yukina hasn't gotten any major roles at all. I guess getting throat cancer or whatever effectively killed her career.
>>287353748She got robbed for her mashu role by riehack was a final coffin in the nailHer best forever role is Kuon of utaware
>>287353748Anyone can do her clean main character/designated winner voice though, it doesn't make sense to still call up Boring McBoringface after 2015 to lead Bye Bye Earth when you can get Fairouz Ai to tune it down and have everyone watch because everyone loves Fai-chan
>>287353847I thought Erina from Shokugeki was the only role she was actively robbed of. Oh, and Chaos;Child's Kunosato Mio, too. I guess that makes three roles then.
>>287350815People keep equating similar beginnings with similar content throughout, both regarding this example of Rakudai vs Asterisk and with isekai. But it's not the same at all. While magic highschool often has a similar overarching tournament super-arc that lasts quite a while along with the similar beginning and similar power systems, there are still massive differences in the characters and the character dynamics. While Asterisk has a "generic fake-harem" setup, Rakudai gets to the point of a clear-cut "winning heroine" very quickly and the MC and heroine already become a couple in the first arc/LN. They have their first kiss in the second arc/LN, and get engaged in the third arc/LN. After that it reaches a status quo for a while, but they have their first sex by the end of the 9th LN. With isekai the beginning is really the only thing similar. There are some one-liners that haters get extremely fixated one as ""proof"" for being """literally the same""" when infact its just some kind of inside-joke among narou writers. The proof that they aren't similar beyond the beginning is the fact that no one can name any 2 "almost identical isekai". Try it. Even the "punching" otome this season compared to Scarlet still doesn't make the cut because despite the very similar premise both the character writing and the execution of the concepts are entirely different. Overlord, Slime and Tsukimichi all have a quite similar premise, yet as their stories go along, they only become more and more different from each other. As you can see, the idea that "all isekai are the same" is just a myth and breaks down against the slightest scrutiny. There's a reason why people who spread this myth always keep is as vague and generalized as possible, never concretely comparing two isekai with each other, exactly because this view crumbles the moment you cannot hide behind "vagueposting" anymore.
>>287354411Literally everything with an op shota protagonist is exactly the same and you can't convince me otherwise.
>>287354636Name 2 titles featuring an "op shota protagonist" that are "exactly the same" then.
>>287354411>step one copy the beginning of one series>step two copy the middle from a second series>step three copy the end from a third series>you've now copied everything, but it doesn't count as "the same shit you've already seen" because it's copying three books instead of one>oh and the first book getting copied was copying the third book's middleIsekai in a nutshell.

>>287350237Battle Haremslop paved the way for naruoslop, you absolute retard.
>>287355759This, and it's not like an isekai that is as well-written as Strike the Blood is automatically shit because of its genre and settingNot that I know of any that exist, but then again this is one of the few battle harems I like
did this ever get subs for the last 2 seasons that weren't garbage? crunchyshit was supposed to be working on it but idk if they ever finished. also kiriha was the best girl and needed more nude scenes.
>>287356336I don't think so, at least I didn't find any on nyaa. That said, I was confused as fuck the first time I watched S2, and now I know why, they skipped over a lot of volumes and rushed through three arcs in 8 episodes. It doesn't help that the official translation isn't all that good either.Liking Strike the Blood is suffering.
Perfection
Wait a second. Lion King Agency.Regulus Aurum, the fifth Blood Familiar of the Kaleid Blood being a lion.Himeragi Yukina being used as the blood medium to awaken Regulus Aurum.Himeragi Yukina being from the Lion King Agency.Regulus meaning "kinglet".It has taken me 12 and a half years to figure this shit out.
