AI can't "consume media" because everything it knows about any anime/manga/show/game/book/etc is based on secondary info (Youtube videos, wikis, discussion, fanart) etc.
Because for it to directly engage with the work, it'd do the equivalent of someone torrenting or pirating a thing.
This means that in theory, AI would be using some shady site with pop ads that hosts movies, shows, scans of mangas, roms of old games etc.
And if a company wanted, they'd use this same type of AI to detect piracy sites and take them down before most people even acknowledge them.
But this also means AI could in theory watch shows before people that claim to be fan of them.
