>>287359737Yeah shitty anime was the deciding factor here, and lack of hot girls probably didn't help.The premise was unironically way ahead of its time. Japan liked the manga well enough for a series with a gigaflop anime, but if it debuted several years later the western Adventure Time/Rick and Morty type of fans would've latched onto this like crazy and propelled it into international hit status. Even if it debuted now people would appreciate how different it is, though the pacing at the start probably wouldn't fly anymore.
