What is it about collecting genga/cels that makes the most patrician of anime merch *coonsooming* vs say figurines, posters, etc? Half of which you can't display in a room unless you really wish to remain a wizard. Also I feel bad for the zoomer and alpha generation that will never be able to appreciate or collected hand drawn anime now that everything is digital. Truly a lost art.

Don't these things eventually degrade into dust?>>287362867I'm more in the I rather keep something from the original artist of a series than mass produced chink plastic. I don't know if cels fit that bill.
>>287362423Displaying uguu celluloids will pose an even greater risk of remaining a wizard. Collecting them is socially accepted, but displaying - that's a massive weirdo tell.
>>287363239I exclusively collect hentai cels and display them in my house/dinning room.
>>287362423The only cels that are worth it are the ones that show things that weren't visible on screen due to framing or deliberately being left out of view. Other than that it's like buying NFTs. Spending hundreds if not thousands to own an illustration everyone else also has.>b-b-but I have it in physicalBig fucking deal.
>>287363239some of backgrounds are art onto themselves. Also you get a first hand look on how they actually animated the scene if you have the drawings aswell.

>>287362423what was the name of the one anime that was going to have a cell animated OP, Dungeon Alchemy..or Witch or something like that?
