Harems with actual plot reasons why the MC cant/wont fuck make more sense for narrative/ecchi continuity without alienating the reader too much, but its still a delicate balance. Also girl dynamics need to be explored, preferably if girls are ok with sharing.In short, there is nothing inherently wrong with it. It just was/still is used as a crutch by bad writers to draw people in, and sort of became known for such.
