One of the things that rarely gets brought up or mentioned properly is just how exactly the anime is shit.The anime is shit because goddamn, the budget for season 1 was abysmally low. It was almost a bottom of the barrel slideshow. Something on par with like, Denpa Kyoushi or Isekai Nonbiri Nouka's animation budget. You can tell because there is almost 0 action that's actually animated. Most of the episodes are stills where nobody's actually moving or they're talking heads, and 95% of the action you do see is a scene of the characters in chibi-form moving and acting like they're in a Flash animation. Yeah sure you can't get 100,000 hand-drawn frames like Madhouse animating Redline for every adaptation but you'd expect an anime to have a better middle ground for quality instead of what you got for bookloli. Season 1's budget was bottom of the barrel, season 2 may or may not have gotten better, and season 3 was just poorly animated especially since there was a lot more action that needed to get done compared to the first two seasons. And this is just about the animation because the pacing and the amount of shit they skipped so they could fit entire parts into one cour is just criminal.So if you're watching the anime, you get no quality, no animation, and huge chunks of content are cut for time. So you get a subpar experience in all categories. That's why you can't help but say "the books are better" because the anime just isn't good, period. There is literally no downside except having to put up with the official translator fucking up everybody's names for no fucking reason.The only good thing about the anime is that they casted Dio to voice Benno and it is great. It is the anime's one and only good factor. It's so sad we see less and less of him over time.
