The whole issue with the SnK is a natural continuation of Eren's character flaw of brashness and the selfish desire to do everything himself without the consideration of his nakama. It continuing to result in failure (which it literally does, everyone should be fucking pissed at Eren) but everyone magically bends over backwards to thank him for ruining the world and then dying despite him having godlike powers to fix everything is the biggest slap in the face. Eren should've died regretting his choices, and the rest of the cast should've been mocking and disparaging his decisions in the epilogue.
