What manga deserve a way better adaption than what they actually got?
Akira and Nausicaa are obvious ones that come to mind. Both have phenomenal, detailed, highly fleshed out manga, who's adaptions were basically both made only using elements from the first and second volumes mashed together to make sort of loose adaptation films.
I'm sure this happened to a bunch of manga, especially in the classic era. So what manga deserve better adaptations than what they got?

To be fair with Akira, Otomo hadn’t finished the story when he made the movie

Akira and Nausicaa were like two of THE biggest, well-funded, well-made anime movies of the 80s. Every star animator of their generation had a hand in at least one of these films.
What the fuck are you talking about? Why is everyone on this board a baiting faggot?

2 good films. But still no real adaption of the actual stories.

Gantz. I love my edgelord manga.

What are you talking about? The 1985 film is a near 1:1 adaptation and while Bloodlust takes many liberties it's still a recognizable adaptation of the story.

OP is talking about the faithfulness of the adaptation not the quality of the animation, retard. Both Akira and Nausica loosely adapt the first two volumes out of 7.

Spriggan but when a CGshit series came out nobody cared

gee I wonder why

And I'm saying that faithfulness has not much to do with the QUALITY of the adaptation on the whole, faggot. You can't just ignore the production value and the influence those two movies had and claim it's bad because it wasn't one of the shitty panel-for-panel adaptations we are inundated with today. Both of them manage to be entertaining movies in their own right despite not strictly adhering to the source material. Plotniggers must burn in hell

Most of it was 2D.

>you can just adapt a work poorly but as long as it has sakoooooga it's good!
Literal brainlet take.

Find a branch to hang yourself from. You'd be doing everyone a minor favor.

Akira's adaptation was better than the manga deserved.
