Why the fuck do we have manga going 10 years straight? See witch hat atelier, ragna crimson, OPM, CSM etc etc
>>287399314to improve quality (less quantity) or to create more quantity (less quality)
>>287399314it oays the billsthere are series of novels in fantasy and sci-fi that go 10 years or longer. you build a fanbase and they keep buying what you make, until you go full retard or decide its time to end it since you never got axed.
>>287399314CSM didn't even last 8 years.
>>287399314it's a job unironically and manga is more like american comics than people like to think. that's why when there really is a story to tell that is able to end on the author's discretion is appreciated.the worst offender by far is hajime no ippo, even more than one piece because as I have bitched about before Ippo, the titular boxer character has not fought in 10 years.
>>287399458It's getting a part 3 for sure.
>>287399534cope of the century
>>287399439>>287399463OPM is a webcomic made as a hobby though??
>>287399568What? I haven't even read part 2 yet but there is no way the editors will allow one of the best selling manga to end.
>we
>>287399458Spinoffs will count
>>287399623no idea why you're replying to me I never said anything about OPM
>>287399631Buddy...
>>287399314it was never meant to tell a good history, just a bunch of pretty stuff to look at and keep COONSUMIINGShit like one piece has 4 times the word count of lord of the ring and the world building and storytelling is shallow as fuck
>>287399314I want Nui to rape me
>>287399736hm, the OP is specifically asking about OPM.
With weekly manga it's likely because each chapter is pretty short. Anime often put 2+ chapters per episode. With monthly and quarterly manga the page count doesn't always reflect the differences in release schedule so it's easier to last a long time. But at the same time we're pretty far away from a time when anime would air 50+ episodes in the span of a year or a little more. It's not uncommon for anime to take breaks of years between cours. Look at Dorohedoro, which just now is having its second cour/season after 6 years. Why is that not an issue but a manga running for that entire time or more is an issue?Manga running for a long time is far from a new "issue" too. It's the standard for the format. Of course there are shorter manga too, but there's always been manga that have run for quite a while. If you don't like it then stick to anime. But just realize that you're still "waiting" quite a while for adaptations sometimes. WHA is only now getting an anime after nearly 10 years. And who knows how long it'll take to get a second season.
